complete exhaustion...
hey everyone... i'm in downtown chicago right now, staying at a youth hostel for my CTD camp. that's right - i'm helping the homeless while all of you are in warm places! haha no it's cool though... i've learned so much and have had awesome experiences, so it's all good. its so frustrating being homeless - yesterday i attempted to sell the StreetWise newspaper that is published in Chicago. i did it for over an hour and half, and sold 10 papers. TEN! its ridiculous. i got bitched at too, for "taking money from the homeless" cuz i wasn't homeless and i was selling the paper. once i explained to the guy that i was giving all the money back, i think he felt better. but still! it was difficult being ignored. i have so many other stories, but i'll write when i get home on saturday cuz i only have a few minutes left on here.
the people here are cool, i guess. most of them. there are a couple of girls i really like, and some not so much. there are 18 people here, and 14 of them are girls. that's right... 4 boys. its funny. but i don't know about the teachers... i like joe - he's 23 and he's really good to talk to. but cass - no freaking way. she's a sophomore at northwestern, and she definitely thinks she is so much better than all of us. what i find amusing though is how paranoid they are when we use public transportation. when we get on the EL, we have to be in 3 groups so none of us gets left behind. what's even better is that rob (program director/creator) thinks one of us is going to JUMP off the platform onto the tracks. not fall, not get tripped, but JUMP. quite funny.
