Sean shifted his weight nervously back and forth from one knee to the other, trying to get some circulation back in his legs. Behind him, he heard Orlando clear his throat. He hadn't even heard him come back into the room. As Sean thought about it, he wasn't sure that he had heard Orlando leave. He kept his head down and watched as Orlando's bare feet came into view.
"What did I tell you?" Orlando asked, his voice harsh.
"To kneel here until you told me I could move... Sir," Sean said softly.
"And did I tell you that you could move?" Orlando asked.
"No, Sir," Sean said.
"Then why did you?" Orlando asked.
"I'm sorry, Sir," Sean said.
"Not even an excuse to offer?" Orlando asked, tilting Sean's chin up with his fingers so he could see Sean's eyes.
Sean closed his eyes briefly and shook his head to the negative.
"Well, at least you're being honest," Orlando said before turning around and walking to the couch.
Sitting down, Orlando regarded Sean with a cold gaze. After a moment, Sean lowered his gaze to the floor.
"I'm sorry, Sir," Sean whispered.
Orlando's face relaxed slightly.
"Have you learned your lesson?" Orlando asked gently.
"Yes, sir," Sean said demurely.
"And you're going to apologize to Brad first thing in the morning?" Orlando asked.
Sean nodded.
"What was that?" Orlando asked.
"Yes, Sir," Sean answered dutifully.
"Come here," Orlando said, stretching out on the couch, opening his arms.
Slowly Sean got to his feet, joints stiff from the prolonged period of kneeling. Carefully he made his way to the couch, trying to work some circulation back into his legs. When he reached the couch, he gently lowered himself on top of Orlando. Instantly Orlando wrapped his arms around Sean, holding him tight. Sean lowered his head down and rested it on Orlando's shoulder. Orlando let one of his hands travel up and run it through Sean's hair.
"I love you," Orlando said softly. "You know that, right?"
Sean nodded and snuggled closer to Orlando.
"Good," Orlando said, hugging Sean closer, letting the silence wash over them.
