“What are you doing?” Dave asked, coming into the kitchen to find Sean rinsing his mouth and spitting into the sink.
“Your jam,” Sean responded, gesturing to the table where a jar of dark preserves sat open next to a piece of toast loaded with the stuff and a large bite of out it. “I think its gone bad.”
Dave burst into laughter.
“Don't tell me it's something your mum gave you when you moved out of the house,” Sean said, glaring at Dave.
“No, nothing like that,” Dave assured him, still laughing so hard his face flushed. “That's not jam, Sean. That's vegemite.”
