Christmas in... May?
I love getting my Christmas shopping done early. I'm not *done* yet, but I've got a darn good idea, and will probably have it all done by the end of June. I will wait until the last minute to buy Mack's Christmas gifts, because I really don't ever know what to get him, but I know what to get for the rest of my family.
Christmas has become too commercialized. I participate in the gift exchange because my mother insists. She grew up poor and with very little, so I think she likes to be able to go into debt buying too much for the rest of us. I'd rather draw names and buy one really nice gift for one person than get a bunch a little crap for/from everyone else.
At least I already put my foot down and told them I will not go into debt for Christmas nor will I have the money like I have the last two years for gifts. I will spend about $20 per person, and Mack will spend about $5. End of discussion.
