Happy Birthday to me!
It's been an awesome birthday weekend.
I took the day off from work on Friday (and for once didn't wear my tiara). That night, JP and I went to the Rod Stewart concert courtesy of my Baby Sister and my parents. Thanks guys! It was a great show, and would have been perfect if it were in a non-smoking venue. Oh well. It was still a great show even if we had to keep moving to get away from the cigar smoke.
On Saturday, JP took me to see Cirque du Soleil's Saltimbanco. Oh. Em. Gee. If you haven't ever seen a Cirque du Soleil show, then you absolutely MUST go. If you can't go, then watch one on DVD. If you can't get it on DVD, then try to find one online. It was breath-taking and inspiring and just TEH AWESOME!
Sunday was the usual visit to the Mothership, but this time it was all about ME! My Seeester made a chocolate cherry cake thing and it was so good that I'm STILL hopped up on far too much sugar. My mom gave me my present from my brother. It was a zipper baggie full of silver coins - twenty-five dollars' worth! Jeff, my brother-in-law, gave me a gift card to Barnes & Noble. My lovely Seeester gave me a couple of books as well as the awesome cake. One was The Herbalist, and another was Wreck This Journal. There's a little challenge with the latter book. It seems my Seeester bought one for herself as well. We are not to discuss or show each other what we do to our poor little soon to be demolished books, and on January 1, 2010, we will have a journal sharing time. Well, JP thought the whole concept was so awesome, he bought a book for himself and will participate in the share time next year. Damn, I hate keeping secrets from my hubby. I want to tell him all about the great ideas I have for this journal!
Anyway, birthday weekend is over, and it's time to head back to the mundanity that is my boring life. I am trying to get pics uploaded to my server, and I'll post a link when they are finally done.
