We sent Mack to take a shower and get ready for bed. Mack came back in and said, "Excuse me, Mommy, but the shower won't turn on. I turn the handle, but no water comes out."
Well, JP and I were freaking out, thinking our water had been cut off for some reason. We paid the bill last month, and we only just got this month's bill, so we weren't sure what was going on. There were no notices on the door about some kind of water emergency where they had to cut it off. We could not figure out what was going on.
I had a little idea pop into my head. Here we have the main water cut-off valve out by the street, and there's a secondary cut-off on the water spigot by the house. I asked, "Did you check the valve on the side of the house? Maybe some of the neighborhood kids turned it off."
JP's face fell. "I didn't know that turned off the water to the whole house!" he wailed. He had used the water hose to wash some of the mud off his truck after plowing though a few mud puddles this afternoon and he thought the other valve needed to be turned off, too. I followed him outside, laughing at the whole situation.
OMG, I laughed my ass off for nearly twenty minutes. That was priceless.
