More memory lane, sort of

I had to visit my beloved doctor this morning. I woke up crying from the ear infection I'd been hoping would go away on its own, and I had to do something about it.

I love my doctor because I rarely have to wait more than ten minutes in the waiting room, and then it's just a few more minutes until I see her once I'm in the exam room. Add to that the fact that she gives me samples of most of the medications she would prescribe, and you get a very happy patient. Today, she gave me enough free samples of the antibiotic ear drops to get me well, and she prescribed some pain-relief drops as well.

I have many fond memories of the pain relief medicine she prescribed, Auralgan. It used to come in a blue glass bottle, and it's healing properties bordered on miraculous. I knew when I had an ear infection and Mom brought out the blue bottle, it would be only minutes until nearly-complete pain relief.

I didn't stop and get the prescription filled on my way in to work. I wish I had. I long for the relief of the little blue bottle. Then again, a big bottle of Captain Morgan's would bring miraculous relief, too. Hmmm, which shall I choose?

I am also in serious need of a nap. Sleep helps the healing process, right? Yeah, that's the ticket - a bottle of rum and a nap.

doctor, sick, ear infection
