Happy Valentine's Day!

At some point in the very recent past (Sunday or Monday, I think) I read an article about a love coach. She said a person needs to do certain things to be ready for and receptive to love. These things included throwing out any clothes that don't make you look good, always looking your best, being prepared to take that chance, and keeping your car clean.

I laughed.

So this morning after I dropped Mack off at school, I took a good look at my wonderful car, George. George has been good to me over the years, and I realized I haven't been as good to him. Yes, I clean him out periodically, and occasionally even clean the outside, but I have never given my car a thorough detailing. Maybe it's time. Because if I can't take care of my car, how can I expect a man to think I can take care of him?

(Wait one cotton-pickin' minute! Why the hell would I want a man to think I will "take care of him"? Unless that means "make sure he's still breathing," then they can all forget it. I'm not THAT interested.)

Now I know why I don't have "love" in my life. I have a dirty car. And you know what? I'm perfectly okay with that.

I will be spending my Valentine's Day with my son, and we are going to pig out on popcorn and chocolate and have a grand ol' time. I hope all of you are able to spend the day with your loved ones as you wish.

P.S. I always take George in for regular maintenance. I take good care of my car that way. He may not look as new as the day he first became a member of the family, but he still runs almost as well.
