Busy busy busy!

I've been a busy girl! I decided this was the weekend to paint the contrast wall in my living room since JP had pulled the shelves out to stain them. I wanted the wall to match the matting around some prints I have in the room (no pictures available of those), so I pulled the small one down and went to the hardware store to match it up. I talked it over with the lady in the paint section at Home Depot, and we decided a light brown base coat with a chocolate brown faux finish would be the closest match. She outright told me no sponge painting and suggested using rags instead of a sponge would yield better results. I'll let you be the judge.

(Excuse the picture quality - my digital camera is not functioning at the moment, and I had to use the camera on my cell phone.)

This is the wall after I finished painting it, but before I put the shelves back in. The lighting is very poor on this one, but you can see the texture. JP says it looks like leather.


This is the after photo, with shelves, books, movies, trinkets, etc. in place. The lighting is much better in this photo, so you can get a better idea of the true color.


There is another shelf to the right of the TV, but since my cell phone doesn't have a very good camera in it, you only get this portion. This wall was a boring, blank white space before. I used to hate it. Now I love it!

I feel like I really accomplished something, and that feels good.

Next on the agenda:

1. Finish cleaning/decluttering the living room.
2. Paint Mack's bathroom.
3. Pick a sand/jute color as a basic color for every room.
   
4. Paint the rest of the living room the color picked in number 3.
5. Pick another room to work on.
