Thai Roasted Ginger Coconut Fish

Instead of ice cream, last night I had an extra serving of this 'cause it's that damned awesome. Even if I whipped it up from fresh veggies and stuff in freezers and pantry. Even if it probably has as many calories as ice cream ( Read more... )

Sounds yummy!

As for CS, I'm of the same religion (since Ise turned 18 months, because before that we were desperate to make her eat). Now, Ise either eats what we offer or doesn't eat, period. Surprise: on the whole, she doesn't eat less than when we begged/ argued/ offered her whatever she wanted. We have much more difficulty with her wanting to eat stuff that she can't have (milk, cheese) than the opposite.

How does Ise do with eating spicy food?

Good! She likes spicy food. As long as it's not too hot, which I respect of course (we're not sadists ;))

You lucky parents! K doesn't like any hint of capsaicin and never has. I respect that, too. And I respect her taste for healthy food. So if we make food that's too spicy or too rich, she doesn't have to eat it. Everything else, she has to.

Right now, she's eating her choice of desserts when faced with an array of chocolate, ice cream, cookies, etc.: grapes!

I'm proud of many of her choices, but man I like me some spicy food now and then, and ditto creamy stuff (P made this yumminess last night: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Linguine-Avgolemono-with-Artichoke-Hearts-and-Green-Beans-234147 )

You're so lucky you got a spicy food lover!

About the recipe: how funny, Kris made it a few weeks ago! I loved it.

As for children and food, I guess an healthy taste is a good thing indeed. Ise's favorite foods are meat and fish (spicy or not), which is not quite ideal health wise. But it evolves a lot from day to day. For instance, she disliked fruit for a long time, but starts to like them more and more (especially grapes, mango and banana). Veggies (especially raw ones, but maybe they're just hard to chew with only 4 molars) are not a great succes so far.

Well, I made it *because* I read these livejournal posts & replies ;). So not a funny coincidence, but fate!
