Graduated Now

I am now officially an alum of Loyola University Chicago. I took the exams, got the grades, passed my classes, did the senior week stuff and the commencement thing and am in the process of the packing up and moving out ordeal. It's kinda crazy, I'm not gonna lie.

This past week and a half has been so amazing. We started the drinking and staying out until 5am as soon as exams were over. It has not stopped from there. I don't even remember what we did the weekend before graduation (graduation was on a Friday at 4pm for me). Senior week stuff was awesome. Monday we went to the President's reception at the downtown campus then to Dave and Buster's where Loyola set us up with free dinner and gamecards. We drank and played games for a couple of hours. Then, we went on the Senior Pub Crawl. It was awesome. Matt and I took pics at every single bar (we only went to 4 of the 7) and I got him totally plastered. :)

Tuesday was Megs' birthday so we went downtown for lunch then out to dinner and dancing on the Spirit of Chicago (a boat) that cruises around Lake Michigan. We had way good times and we all looked totally pretty. Wednesday was the BBQ on Jes Res lawn. Sad thing was it rained. Good thing was they had a tent to set us up in when the rains came down. Another good thing was the free beer (sadly only miller lite or MGD). After hanging for a couple of hours, we went home to dry off and Matt and I watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy (reviews to come later in entry). That night we went to Haligans in Lincoln Park for $2 drafts and ended up at clark's at 3am eating breakfast with Mr. and Mrs. Murphy. Totally awesome.

Thursday my family came in town. In the afternoon was Baccalaureate mass followed by Honors Convocation that night. My family and I went out to dinner first. I got cool honors including departmental honors from both the Biology and Chemistry Depts, and a medal from the Chem department. Dr. Crumrine even gave me a laser pointer cuz he likes me! Friday was graduation which was awesome cuz nobody tripped and our speakers were decent. Again out to dinner with the family followed by partying with friends. The night culminated at the Oasis with Amber Bock and darts. Well, not culminated cuz then I went and got McDonalds and Matt and I watched the sunrise and took a nap on the bench at Columbia on the beach.

Saturday morning I got up and my family packed up some of my stuff in their cars to take home with them. That was early. So, being tired from my 3 hours of sleep, I went to Jes Res with Kate and Teresa and took a nap. That was nice. Except for the sunburn on the back of my calves now. Saturday night, Claudia made pasta for us at the boys' apartment and then we went to see the DaVinci Code...great movie if you like the history aspect. Not too much action, but enough to keep you on your toes. Plus, all the acting was really good. Sunday Meg and I had lunch in Oak Park with Rita then went to Kate's graduation. After that I got fruit and chocolate to make fondue and then we went to Claudia's graduation. We then went back over to the guys' place and Matt and I chopped fruit and Claudia melted chocolate and we toasted with champagne. It was really cool cuz everyone was there. I'm really glad we could all be together one last night. Following the consumption of massive amounts of chocolate and wine, we ran around on the beach and reminisced and cried and such. The night ended with Matt and I running all around Rogers Park looking for Kate who was sleeping in Matt's bed. Matt and Kate ran off to watch the sunrise and I went to bed so I could get up when my momma got here this morning.

My momma and I went shopping and now we're going to pack up my stuff so she can take the rest home tomorrow. It'll be good.

Grey's Anatomy season finale was awesome. Well, the first hour was. The second two parts on Monday night kinda pissed me off cuz they were slow-moving and cuz Izzy didn't get punished. I'm glad Denny died, but I'm not happy about the way he died and I'm glad Meredith and Derek finally just got down to it, but I'm totally envious of Meredith. I mean, she has to make a choice, yes, but her choice is Patrick Dempsey or Chris O'Donnell...pretty good either way if you ask me. Anyway, we'll find out next season who she chooses and whether Izzy really quit the program. We shall see.

Okay, that's a huge ass entry but it's all my senior fun. Though, I didn't really include in here how much drinking I've done since exams finished. Let's just say my liver hates me. Officially.
