... on my earliest trips to Europe, when there was no email or facebook, and I'd sit on museum steps to dash off a postcard, or in a cafe with a flimsy blue airpost letter that folded up to form its own envelope... moments to pause and think about what I was seeing, trying to share my experiences in some way with a friend...
