Sewing for toddlers.

Miri's dress was wearable for the party. I did not get sleeves or the cape done but she was cute none the less.

The separate petticoat was made of fail. Measures out perfectly not to show, only toddlers have this cute little pot belly and the waistband for a skirt naturally settles in below the belly when worn for any length of time. No hips, just belly. The dress hangs from her shoulders and follows a waistline by cut, not nature. So her petticoat showed in the front, and not in a cute intentional way.

So no separate petticoats until the pot belly days are over, or something to keep the petticoat level with the skirt like a corset or skirt supporter. There is probably a reason why Miri would still be dressed in a sack during the Victorian era and earlier. Though I won't put her in a corset until she hits her teens.

I still can't believe Snowball is gone. Every time I go into my bedroom I expect to see her there. I miss that little black cat. I don't think I'll ever get over the feeling that I failed her. I know there was nothing I could do but the thought lingers.
