Pain Update
I went to see a physical therapist on Friday -- mostly evaluation, but she did do a little ultrasound massage, which helped a bit. Sooo, I'm still in a good deal of pain, but it's about 1% less than it was. I'll go to sessions three times a week, and the prognosis is that I'll only need about two weeks before I'm right as rain. (OK, I have to look up the origin of that saying -- along with "happy as a clam." I mean, really, what does a clam have to be happy about? How much happiness can a bivalve experience?? Maybe, as it doesn't have a spine, it never has to contend with back aches -- I'd be happy about that at the moment, so perhaps the saying does make some sort of relative-type of sense -- but, of course, I digress....)
Anyway, so I should be feeling better soon -- yea!!!!
What else? Hmmmm.... Went to training today for new faculty of UNIV courses -- I'll be teaching a section of UNIV 100 in the Fall. Hey - just checked, and my section is FULL! Wow. 20 poor incoming Frosh expecting me to divulge the meanings of the Universe (or at least, the University). Cool -- my name is there with the other faculty; what a common name I have. I'll have to come up with something snappier. Maybe I'll go by my middle name: "JOELLE, J." Yeah, that stands out a bit more. Of course, I do like my anonymity at times....
