So tonight
xtinethepirate and I went to see the BARENAKED LADIES IN CONCERT!!! And it was absolutely amazing! Very exciting!
Joel Plasket and his friend Peter Something-or-other were the opening act. I only recognized his name and one of his songs, but he's from Halifax, so everyone else was pretty happy to have him there.
Then there was an intermission that lasted twenty five freaking minutes. So impatient!
And then there was this:
Daddy, thank you again for the fabulous Christmas present; the camera took some really great pictures tonight.
The entire group. Plus half the audience. ^______^
Ed Robertson, who is hilarious and has a great voice. And who
xtinethepirate and I both agree is completely jumpable. (Also, I am particularly proud of how well this pic turned out)
Jim Creeggan, who really played to the crowd and ended the show in another man's arms.
Kevin Hearn, who sings and plays the piano, the guitar, and the accordion; Jen is a little jealous.
And Tyler Stewart, who gave me so much trouble when it came to getting a decent picture of him; he was always hiding behind one of the other guys (note the mic where Ed was usually standing) and it became my mission of the evening to take a picture where Tyler's head wasn't behind someone's guitar, accordion, or body. Finally got one!
See what I mean? Tyler was being so difficult. *shakes head*
Though they didn't serenade us with Shoebox or Another Postcard, they did sing the Big Bang Theory, One Week, Pinch Me, Old Apartment, If I Had a Million Dollars, It's All Been Done, Too Little Too Late, and this little song about a pollywog in a bog. ^_______^ And lots of others! It was quite the awesome concert.
Also, "Uncle Ed" taught us a great new phrase, which will most likely quickly become one of my favourites: that sucks a pile of ass. lol
And the show ended with the guys totally boy-banding it with this little synchronized/choreographed dance number, and then Jim jumped into Tyler's arms and was carried around the stage! Too funny.
Overall, an amazing concert and a great night.
Edit: Also,
xtinethepirate just
posted about our evening and you should check it out because she has some awesome videos and a few different pictures on hers!
