Very pleasantly surprised

So by now pretty much everyone in LJ land knows that yesterday was Purple Day.  And since I'm currently working on a placement in a high school, I really only expected teachers and a few of the older kids (mostly girls) to actually wear purple to show their support.

I can't tell you how floored I was by the number of students wearing purple yesterday.  It truly was amazing; at least two thirds, maybe three quarters, of the the 900 students at the school showed their support for the gay community at my school yesterday, from all four grade levels, and spread almost equally across boys and girls.  As I said, truly amazing.

On a separate note, I taught three separate courses yesterday, instead of my usual one, and I'm teaching two today.  I'm totally enjoying it, but it is hella stressful.  I just hope I get more efficient at lesson planning soon, because if not, I don't think there are actually enough hours in the day to review material, plan a lesson, and grade assignments for three classes every day.

I just want to sleep.

school, important issues, omg so stressed, squee
