thankful
well, i survived my first real holiday away from my family. i'm so thankful that meesh invited me to have thanksgiving with her family. her mom was adorable and a perfect mommy-stand-in. and herniece alyssa was the cutest, smartest, politest 4-year-old i've ever met. about 15 minutes after i arrived, alyssa asked me if i would sit next to her at thanksgiving dinner. awww! we drove down to san diego on wednesday night. had a few beers at tgiFridays (it IS the suburbs!) and then relaxed with a few more beers in the jacuzzi. we slept like champions until like 11am. we woke up, ate lots of delicious food. i haven't had mashed potatoes since i was home. i need to make mashed potatoes more often. they make me happy. then we napped the afternoon away and drove back to LA. her mom even wrapped up a big piece of carrot cake for me to take home.
a few days late, but here's my list. this year i am thankful for:

new friends and new experiences
old friends and great memories
sunshine and awesome weather ;)
great opportunities and the courage to follow through with them
the public library
the democrats kicking butt in the election
the health and happiness of all of you!
