Teagan start swimming lessons this week and so far, she is doing so great. The last time she took lessons when she was 3, they were parent/toddler classes so we had to be in the pool with her. Now that she is older (and a better listener) she is able to take the regular preschool swim classes. It's fun being able to watch from the side, tho still a little bitter sweet that her independence is growing. They are focusing on learning how to swim with their faces in the water and learning how to float on their backs and surprisingly Teagan is very confident in doing exactly what the teacher asks of her, she doesn't hold back at all. She will go twice a week for 7 weeks, so we will finish this round of lessons just in time for the weather to start warming up...gearing up for a summer at Wild Waves;)
Also on Monday, she had her gymnastics lessons as usual (she goes to swim in the morning and they end just in time for her to get to her gymnastics...she's a busy girl). She currently takes a 4year old recreational class. When their coach had the group doing their splits during stretches at the beginning of class, she took notice that Teagan could go all the way down in the middle splits and ALMOST all the way on both the left and right splits (literally about an inch from the floor) and she can also put her stomach flat on the floor when they do straddle stretches. She definitely took after me in her flexibility...yay! :) After that, she seemed to be putting a little extra attention on Teagan, almost like she was testing her. After class ended her coach came up to me and said that because Teagan is so flexible and has been doing so well and learning so quickly (she almost has her pullover too!), she felt that she is ready to move up the 4 year old developmental class (which is a coach invite ONLY class.). Such a proud moment! This is going to make our already busy schedule change again since the developmental class is 2 days a week instead of just 1 and it's a whole hour and a half long, instead of just an hour...but Teagan wants to do it so we're gonna try to make it work! She is excited to try the "harder" class! This class will focus more on form and perfecting the skills she has started to learn and they will no longer do the obstacle courses.
So we've officially got dance once a week, swim twice a week, gymnastics twice a week and of course preschool twice a week...she's a busy girl but she seems to LOVE everything we've got her involved in so I'm not complaining! So. Much. Fun.
Now time for ME to start trying to kick this cold I have. Teagan got a cold last week that lasted for MAYBE a day..it was NOTHING. Me on the other hand...I caught it on Saturday and I am STILL sniffling, coughing, watery eyed today....how is that fair?! lol.
