An update with photos

A few months ago, a stray cat made her home underneath my Ford tempo. A great place really, considering I didn't use my car more than once or twice a week. I fed her twice a day and visited her a dozen. One day, I broke out a can of tuna fish and she loved me then on. Until the neighbor decided to take her to the vet. I thought he wanted to keep her. This was great, until a week later when he explained he never wanted to keep her to begin with. He just wanted to get her de-flead and healthy again.

On Monday, Justin and I adopted her. This time, she's made her home in the corner behind the recliner. I broke out the tuna today, and we're a little closer again, but not like when she lived outside.

She's a little heavier than when that was taken, but I haven't been able to get a picture of her yet. I threw pillows behind the chair today, hoping they'd either make her not want to be back there, or that she'd fall in love with the pillows and we could slowly move them out from behind the chair with her following.

In other news, on October 4th, Justin's parents are taking us to Las Vegas!

I've never been west of Minnesota, so this is going to be quite a journey. Oh, and I musn't forget to mention, I've never been in a commercial airplane. In fact, I have only been in one airplane ever, in 2000, with Erik's uncle as the pilot. I'm sure this will be a bit different.

I picked up a dress to wear, since I have next to nothing for nice clothes.

I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures while we're there.

Last Saturday, Justin and I trekked out to Midland to the Chippewa Nature Center. Every Saturday, they excavate a chunk of land looking for artifacts. During our first hour digging, we struck gold and uncovered this arrow point from between 200 b.c. and 600 a.d.

Needless to say, we're definitely going back on Saturday for more of that in-the-dirt action.

Lastly, I heard a funny librarian joke last night.

How do you know if you're talking to an extroverted librarian or an introverted librarian?

--The extroverted librarian will look down at your shoes instead of her own.
