I didn't finish working until 2am - that's the biggest drawback to working from home, right there, feeling compelled to keep working on an issue until it's done because work never goes away. I was worn out.

I had gotten up at 6:15 the previous morning (which I realize isn't all that early by most peoples' standards) to help get the kids ready for school, then kidlet managed to miss the bus while playing with his Legos. I got dressed and drove him to school, then back home to work for an hour before my dentist appointment. Went to the dentist, then to the farm stand for produce and to the middle school to vote. Returned home, worked through lunch, kidlet came home in the afternoon feeling sick so I had to juggle his bugging me every 7-10 minutes while working. At 4:30 I knocked off to start dinner, managed kidlet being ill while prepping food. Mused over whether or not I should have committed to peeling and cooking an entire buttercup squash with everything else going on - decided to make 1/4 of it for dinner and steam the rest afterward and save it. Michael returned home with Margaret and then disappeared just long enough to make it extremely inconvenient as I had to manage her while cooking, then put the food on the table. As I was doing that Keith showed up with Lily to distract her until Misty was due to be picked up. Fed children while socializing with Keith. Mashed banana for Lily. Told Michael I really had to work and could he handle the kids? At 6:45 I went back to work and kidlet wandered in to the office needing to finish his reading homework. He got started with that and then Margaret started wandering in every few minutes - it turns out Michael had gotten her settled with some coloring, then left to go downstairs to his studio. Gave up working and sat on the couch as Margaret is perfectly happy to do things on her own, but if no one is around she'll start wondering what is going on elsewhere that is so exciting and seek it out. Michael returned around 7:15 saying "I just needed a few minutes," and I was peeved because he chose the few minutes that we the least convenient - if he had just waited half an hour he would have all the time he wanted to himself. Grumped about that a bit before going back into the office, by this time kidlet was done with his homework so I herded him through getting his pajamas on and brushing his teeth. Kids were in bed by 7:30, sat down to work AGAIN. Worked until 2am. Settled into bed and asked Michael to make kidlet a lunch in the morning and to please not forget. Had just found a good position when I realized the 3/4 squash I had steamed was still sitting on the stove (I had turned it off, but appearently Michael didn't notice it and so didn't put it away, grr). Got up, put squash away, fed cats wet food as they were trying to climb my legs, checked to make sure the chinchillas had food and water, and then made kidlet's lunch since I was there. Fell back into bed at 2:30am. Sat bolt upright at 6:15am thinking I had overslept since it was light outside.

And another day begins.

I packed up the Google TV remote, finally, to go back to the SONY repair center as I've realized that it's just never going to happen unless I kick myself in the ass and do it. It's all nicely bubble-wrapped and sealed inside a flat-rate Priority Mail box, and the printer was kind enough to work long enough to print a shipping label, so all I have to do is drop it off at the post office. Of course to do THAT I need to shower, get dressed in clothes appropriate for leaving the house, and drive there...which looks like a mountain from where I'm sitting right now. Sigh. All I really want is a nap.

In good news, Maine rejected the addition of two more casinos (the newest one that barely got voted in isn't even built yet) and restored the right of voters to register at the polls. Makes doing my civic duty feel worthwhile :)

(Also, if you're reading this - I love you, honey. Sorry to bitch, but I feel better now. :)
