Sad songs to waste time

I should clean my room for book club coming over tomorrow because it's filthy and I'll be having guests (even if they're on the porch instead of in my room). But instead I'd rather make random lists, because that's what I do best ; )

Tonight's list: Songs that are on my Sad/Slow Songs playlist. This grew out of an old mix from after-sophomore summer at NU (which I'd listen to every night before bed). That original one was based in part on a friend's mix called "The Saddest Damn Shit You Ever Heard." My list has grown and changed over the years, but here are some of the best. Lots of them express a bunch of longing. Don't listen too late at night or the title's promise really will come to pass (sadness):

"One More Girl" and "Stand Still, Look Pretty", The Wreckers (Michelle Branch's voice is gorgeous and sounds so broken-hearted)
"Down On the River by the Sugar Plant", Mike Doughty (all about longing - "I want to kiss you but I can't, donw on the river by the sugar plant.")
"Some Day You Will Be Loved", Death Cab For Cutie (I dare you to listen and not want to sob, even if the singer's trying to say something nice)
"Never Yours", Tracy Chapman (very sorrowful and about things you regret)
"For You", Duncan Sheik (so romantically sweet that it makes you cry, either in a good way or a bad one, depending on the mood/situation)
"How To Disappear Completely", Radiohead (actually, don't have this on there currently, but I need to get the file again - it's so haunting)
"The End of the Innocence", Don Henley (this one has stuck around since that very first mix because I love his voice)
"Wise Up" and "Video", Aimee Mann (my Dad used to listen to her nonstop and I hated it, but these really get to me)
"Silent All These Years", Tori Amos (this one's had a hold on me almost as long as Mr. Henley's, way back to hearing it for a modern dance and listening to this on my tape player while traveling in Europe back in 1998)
"Love Ridden" and "Never Is a Promise", Fiona Apple (her entire first album, "Tidal", could have made the playlist but these two are very post-breakup songs that can make you sad no matter what your lovelife)

If anyone has good recommendations for sad/slow songs, I'd love to hear them.

P.S. The icon matches with this because it's sufficiently angsty/sad.
