A while back (like a year ago. These are old, folks) I had this brilliant idea to try writing a couple of drabbles for the weekly drabble challenge over at limpsam. LOL. Ok, writing is hard . And it took me a ridiculous amount of time for a hundred words.
I was kind of proud of this one though. Thank you still to
lfvic for looking it over and gave me some wonderful advice and
ajcaddick "Ames" for the "go for it".

Challenge #8 Phone

" Dean Winchester here..."
He listened, the familiar sounds washing over him. The crinkling of the burger wrapper, music thumping in the background... he could even pick out the words of the song. If he listened hard enough he could hear Dean pawing around in the cardboard box looking for a cassette and the birds chirping in the background. If he listened in the second just before the beep he knew he'd hear a car alarm in the distance.
His message was a hoarse whisper of grief. "Dean, you were wrong. I really can't do this alone."
And drabble number two. Which I like but not as well as the first. This one I have AnickaMarie to thank for her invaluable advice.

Stumbling to the bathroom he knew it was a mistake as soon as the bittersweet chocolate and buttery flavour melted against his tongue. His stomach heaving, his head now hanging over the toilet, the tears streamed down his face as he choked back a sob.
The sour taste of bile mingled with the sweetness of chocolate in his mouth, the taste of ash, the smell of burning flesh and charcoal and the memories of the last time he had a chocolate chip cookie; before Jessica. Before his dreams of a life with her burned down around him.
