World Cup withdrawal

Jul 16, 2010 18:07

Okay, the World Cup ended last Monday (early morning) and I am still watching reruns and highlights, both on TV and the www. I have to stop! My days are semi-boring now because I don't watch anything anymore (except the occasional movies).

Flashback to July11, Germany won third place against Uruguay. Then on July12, Spain defeated The Netherlands to win the 2010 World Cup! Their first ever World Cup! Woot! Note, these are all in Manila time, hehe. I stayed up until 6am just to finish the finals and watch the celebration, haha! Iker's expression was priceless! I wish I could've been there to hold him. LOL. (Dream on, Jen!)

Then a storm hit Metro Manila. I dunno if it was Luzon or just MM, too lazy to Google, haha. The wind was scary! And the electricity was cut, so it was really hard to sleep without A/C or atleast an electric fan, and hearing all those banging noises caused by the wind. It was reported that electricity will be back after 2-3 days, but ours was back the next day, thank God. And thank you coz we're all safe.

One of the best jokes about the storm/typhoon:
"Kasalanan mo lahat nang 'to, Popoy." -Basyang (The storm's Filipino name; line was taken from one of the Filipino's fave movies "One More Chance", but I think the girl's name there is just Basya, haha)

Translation: "This is all your fault, Popoy."

This week's been too hectic and too slow. I am so ready for the weekend!

sports, worldcup, spain, storm/typhoon, germany, iker casillas
