Yes...Jeni let me sleep in today! We both finally got up at noon together. I didn't sleep well last night, despite my attempts. I guess you can say I got into it with B's best friend and his wife.
The reason why I was upset because I took my time to write a personal letter, along with photos (some of you have received those). It took me nearly a month to finish all of those. They didn't even say thank you to me or anything. It was a slap in face when they didn't send anything for Jeni, not even a card to congratulate or anything like that. Now they're parading around with this new baby, sending registry or whatever. Um, what? Does that mean we don't deserve same thing they do or what? B's best friend told me that the reason why he thanked B instead was because he's closer to B. Um, just because I'm not close to him doesn't mean I deserved to be rude to. I sat and wrote a personal Thank you note to every single person that came to baby shower (and I know some of you guys didn't get it because Brandon never delivered them to this day, despite many times I've nagged him to do it), even though I didn't even know some of them, but they're friends of Brandon. That still didn't give me the right to blow them off, and be rude...because that'd show how unappreciative I am, and believe me, I'm grateful for everything I have, and get.
During this e-mails between B's best friend and I, his wife stepped in and basically took over the conversation and bitched me out. She was saying it's fine if I think I'm better person/friend, and that we aren't their top priority. That's so not what I said at all. I wasn't asking for HOURS of conversation or anything like that. A few thank yous directly would've been nice. I do know that everyone's just a human being, and sometimes we do things that bug others. Their rudeness was what bugged me, especially when they tried to use the excuse that they didn't have time to get on the computer. They have time to pick up a phone...dial 10 digits...but they don't have time to turn on the computer...log in e-mail account...and type..."thank you"? Just because they can't communicate with me verbally doesn't mean I don't deserve respect/well-manners. I expected better from B's best friend because oh he's all "religious."
So, since they aren't willing to put any effort, they can't be mad if I stop sending them cards/pictures. I mean if they don't want to give us a minute, why should I waste my precious minute on them, right? And about me thinking I'm better person/friend...I was only trying to confront them about their specific action that hurt me. I would've expected someone to tell me if something I'm doing is bugging them. And I would've thought, "Oh shit, I didn't do that," instead of "Ugh, what the fuck? They think they're better than me or something?" I was totally taken aback when his wife stepped in and took over. I guess he wasn't man enough to talk to me.
They aren't the only ones who were being rude to me. One of Brandon's sisters was so rude. We always gave her gifts for her birthday and Christmas. She never said thank you. Brandon had to force her to thank HIM. She just took the gifts from us, and was being all snobby about it as if she's entitled to it. Brandon's mom complained about this other specific woman being rude, and she said that there's a difference between rudeness and shy. I so wanted to tell her to look at her own daughter, she's raising her the same way. Looks like she's not getting any presents from us anymore until she learns to be appreciative. I mean, gawd, I even scold my brothers every time they display ill-manners because that's simply unacceptable for me. I don't care how old my brothers are...they're never too old to be scolded. That goes for my kids as well. Every time someone give something to my brothers, I always ask them, "Did you say thank you?" After a while, my brothers don't forget to thank people. I've always been trying to be courteous to others, and it should be 2 way street.
People, am I overreacting here or what?
This is why I've been losing my sleep. But no more. I've just got to stop trying to be friendly to every single person. I'm just going to focus on people who give me the same respect that I give them.
Anyhoo, Jeni has becoming more mobile. And...needy. She has to have me by her side whenever she's playing. Sometimes, she'd turn around and pull herself up, and hug me, wanting me to pick her up. That's how mobile she is. She has been doing that for a couple of months, and I'm trying to let her cry it out a little, so she could learn to self soothe, but so far, I'm not having any luck.
Ah, about the rest of Christmas portraits, I'll scan those later this evening. So hopefully I'll put them up here tonight or tomorrow the latest!
