Question of the Day

"How far is Broomfield from Colorado?" This is the equivalent of saying how far is LA from California? What??????

Question of the day, for all of you not familiar with Denver suburbs and such, Broomfield is in Colorado so that is an odd question. I would hope at the least this person from Pennsylvania knew that Broomfield is not a state, but I am not real sure about that. I was talking to said person today, and had to tell her Broomfield is in Colorado, she said ok and just asked another question. She knows the headquarters for the company is in Broomfield, apparently that is all she knows.

I had recently been coming up with a theory on over information, and how random people seem to want to give me information that really isn't pertinent to anything. Sometimes I wonder if life gives us too much information these days that we want to share more of that info. We don't even care if it is related or even matters. Like the strange talk your ear off man that sits next to me, he walks up a week or so ago, no hi or anything and says, "I do not have the family mobile anymore" on first thought I think, hmmm you have no family what the hell. I think better of it because I am pretty sure there is a long story behind all of this and I would like to leave work before 7. So I say, "ok" and turn around and keep typing. Yet he keeps talking to me, telling me about his most current rental car. At which point I put it together, he is a contractor that lives out to town, gets a new rental car each week, apparently at some point he had a minivan, but no longer. Why do I care?

I do realize I have little threshold for nonsense like this, I am not tolerable in the least. I am aware, but why was this conversation necessary. Ok so I am lacking social skills, that was confirmed today with a co-worker telling me that all the ladies in our data entry department think I walk around here giving them dirty looks. I couldn't really deny it, it might be true. he suggested I ask them about scrap booking or something of the sort. I will admit I have found myself angry and pissed off, annoyed with little patience a lot lately. I get rude quickly if meetings are not focused on the point of the meeting and side track, or when we get into crazy what if situation that we all know will never happen. Why waste everyone's time. I see that I need to work on some things here. let some things roll on by and not get worked up over them.

Aside from that I still love my job, I do not even miss my flex time like I had at the last job. I haven't had any more fun excursions to Boston or Fenway but things have been good, nothing to complain about at work in the least.

My father is still traveling uphill in his health battle. Once something gets fixed we move on to the next hurdle, which currently is his heart. I find this to be a pretty important hurdle, thankfully the next surgery in July seems to be fairly minor out patient deal. Some oblation thing, to make his heart beat regularly again. Once that is complete and deemed successful it is on to fix his back and neck which he has always had issues with but has been increasingly more painful lately. He has a few vertebrae that have fused together, incorrectly. Thank goodness for good insurance. All of his health issues are starting to go to his head, he is thinking about moving building a new house. All the crazy stuff he just did a few short years ago and was quite insane for all of us, mostly his contractor. All to build a house they are not thrilled with, and now he wants to start over. I think he is bored.

The boy department is going well, no complaints. He treats me great, been around for a while, no signs of trust issues. Now if he just wasn't the shitty end of my anger fixes lately. Sometimes I am not sure exactly how a healthy relationship should go, I am used to sort of going from crisis to crisis or expecting one to show up. Never really realized this so much before. It was weird at first I felt something was missing, then I realized that was a good thing.

The trip to the US Open in September is coming along, tickets bought, hotel paid for, plane tickets paid for. Now to get those tickets to see the Angels play the Red Sox. I am ready for a real vacation.

My only issue now is I would like some cookies for an afternoon snack and I am all out.
