Your portrayal of Matt and Mello was very good. I have a very hard time seeing anyone in Death Note as homosexual, so I'm glad others are the same.

Well, except Near -- but the only reason he's not homosexual or heterosexual or bisexual is because he's nonsexual.

Out of curiousity, which one is your favourite character? Mello or Matt?

In general, Deathnote characters seem pretty nonsexual/asexual. I think Ohba said DN was not a human drama story and hence steered clear of it, but still. Matt though, is quite straight in canon~ Mello I cannot vouch for *stares at midriffs and feathery jackets* XD But I have a total weak spot or Mello's relationship with Hal.

WARGH, I cannot choose! Instinctively, I'd say Matt. But I wonder if I like him because of what he brings out in Mello, and Mello is just kick ass. Oh, I cannot choose ;_;

I was just curious since you can usually tell who the author favours by how they write the character in question. I totally would have pinned your favourite down as Matt, but you did an equally good job with Mello so I was at a stand-still. :d

I wish I could write Mello. I can't. I lack something that is required to nail his personality, but that's just as well: my favourite thing to focus on is Near and the SPK.

Mmm, I smell a Mello fan :D You're totally right in that I put more emphasis on Matt in this story though. I feel there's a pretty big discrepancy between how I see him and how fandom usually sees him, and I wanted to express that. And also because I had already written a fic about Mello and Near XD Matt wanted loving~

I couldn't write Mello in the beginning either, but just have him swear a lot! It helps to get into the flow of his thinking I think XD Oh oh, if you have written fics about Hal I'll read!!!!

I used to hate Mello. Near was my favourite, but through favouring Near and coming to appreciate the rare, rare reactions Mello gets out of him, I started to like Mello more. Kind of like the whole "I wonder if I like Matt because of what he brings out in Mello" thing you mentioned. :< Otherwise, Near is a really boring character.

Also, I DON'T WRITE HAL YET. I mostly focus on Lester. I think out of all the SPK, Near values Lester the most, so I stick to him with the occasional mention of Gevanni.

At least, when I'm not focusing on Near after Mello blows himself up the final time.

I also used to hate Mello! how dare he look prettier in those clothes than me! eat all that chocolate and not get fat! *hatejealousyhate* but he does provoke excellent reactions from people, and when he died everything seemed quiet and eerie and I cried.

I see you are an Ouran twincest fan :DDDD I've written a few Kao/Hika fics on my jenhippo account if you'd like to read~ I've never read SPK fics, but if you'll rec a few of yours I'll happily give comments :D I struggle with liking Near a whole lot, but I wanna try :)

Wow, that was a surprise. I didn't expect to like an SPK fic so much :) How you started it off with Godzilla's POV is really neat, and Near is actually very likeable in this. You did well with Lester as well, using his observations to draw out Near's nature. When Near said he was thinking about Mello, my heart ached, and I hope the fact that Near can feel pain is something Lester understands.

And those quotes are neat! You should write more :)

I like Near a lot, because he is scared of everything even though he doesn't show it. I think Lester is old enough and wise enough that he somewhat understands it. I know a lot of people tend to forget that Near is just a really smart kid and he's got the social etiquette of a toddler.
