Apparently this past weekend was senior installation. I'm pretty sure that there is someone in the chapter designated to keep the alums informed of stuff like this, but hey maybe I'm asking to much. So, since I didn't know about the events of this weekend until yesterday I wasn't able to prepare anything for my girls Meg and Abby. Sorry girls, you know I would have if I'd known!! But I've decided that I can use this journal as my platform to address you both with all the sappy ramblings that are typical of senior installation speeches...especially mine! So here we go...
Abby, girl you are amazing. You took my girl Ann-Marie as your big sister and lived to tell the tale...no small feit. You've been a great little to Ann and an awesome sister and friend to the rest of us. Ever since I've known you you've worked to hard, but you know how to have a fabulous good time as well...better then most people I know. You are an abosolute doll and I'm so glad I got to share some time w/ you in the chapter. Never stop stating what's on your mind and just being who you are, cause that's pretty darn good!
Megs, we've had an intersting, sometimes turbulent friendship. There were times we wouldn't come to terms on the color of the sky, but then there were others when I'd swear we were sharing the same brain. DG didn't know what we were in for letting you through the door, but I'd say we made the right decision. I don't know what I would have done as president with out you keeping everything straight and organized, we both know who did the most work. More then anything I want to say thank you for that last semster. You, more than anyone outside of "the elders" knows how hard those last few months were for me. You listened, encouraged, and offered support the whole time, never questioning where my emotions were coming from. No doubt you encouraged me to do and say some things I probably would not have if left to my own devices, but I've never regretted saying or doing any of those things. Thank you for helping me to find my voice and stand up for what I thought was right, despite the fact that I was no longer an officer. You helped me to have the courage I needed, and I'll always be greatful for that. I couldn't have guessed what an awesome freind and sister you would turn out to be. I know we haven't had much opportunity to talk or hang out since I moved, but always know that I'm here for you if and when you need me. Sisters forever, that goes for Abbs too!
Ok so that was the mushy stuff I promised. Seriously though, congrats to you both, you've earned it! LITB, TDH Jen
