This is amazing! I really enjoy your writing style, it's excellent. I think you've wonderfully captured the boys' personalities. The meeting with Nigel and Gary's realisation was so intense! It's quite interesting to think how one person can turn four grown up men back into the boys they once were. This makes me wonder, if TT from today met Nigel again, would they still revert back into their old 'roles'?
I can definitely see that controlling side of Gary, kind of this natural tendency to lead. It seems to be a big part of his personality and that confidence suits him well. But it's good that he has realised how arrogant and selfish he could be back in the 90's. He seems like a truly pleasant man these days, not to mention funny ;) I truly love his dry sence of humour LOL!
You also managed to capture Mark's insecurities so well. He just doesn't seem to be the most self-confident of people. And he difinitely has issues. Often that side of him is just so easy to ignore, behind all those brave smiles...
I adore your Barlowen and I'm very much looking forward to reading more!!! *g*
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment. I'm so glad you feel I portrayed the characters well, and that you enjoy my writing. trust me that's what every writer wants to hear! lol.
I too think Gary is a far more pleasant person these days, and his sense of humour has me in stitches. I know some people don't get him, but he's right on my wave length.
Interesting point about Nigel. I hadn't actually thought what would happen if the boys got in a room with Nigel nowadays... somehow I doubt the conversation would be pleasant. Nigel certainly hasn't been discreet with his criticism of them in the last couple of years. Good thing no-one actually cares what he thinks! lol.
Thank you again, so so much for your comment. Hope you continue to enjoy the series.
Well, thank *you* for writing this. It's always nice to read fics about your fave fandom/pairing/person, but it's even better when the writer is actually good at what she does. That makes the reading experience pleasurable and makes me stick to the stories. Plus, the boys being in character is so so important, it has to feel like you're actually reading about *them* and not just some random people who have their names ;)
Gary's humour is exactly how I like it, a bit sarcastic and not too obvious ;)
The boys in the same room with Nigel. After all that they've achieved this time around, as a four/five, I'd be surprised if they'd just let him walk all over them. Or it could be that they simply wouldn't care, it's all in the past and they've moved on.
