Kevin Devine is one amazing man. I can honestly say that he is the best male vocalist ever. Period end of story. Last night he blew me away. I had forgotten how amazing he was live. It sucked that he didn't play No Time Flat or You Are My Sunshine or People Are So Fickle, but his set was still intense and I loved every second of it. And the crowd in San Francisco beats Ft. Lauderdale's by so much! No smoking, no rude comments, and lots of cheering. I loved it.
Street To Nowhere was fantastic as well. Its cool that they're from Oakland. Bay area band playing at their hometown was pretty awesome too! They made me smile and I danced and clapped and loved it too! And the whole band is cute! :) Oh and Dave's cover of Hallelujah was amazing. WOW
Matt Pond PA were very good, although I have to admit, the least impressive out of the three and thats saying something because they were pretty awesome. And the singer was really funny and just introduced every song by saying "This is a song" hahah
As for Straylight Run, the last times I saw them were pretty fantastic, and this time was no exception, and in fact it was the best performance I have seen by them. I loved it a lot. They didn't play Tension and the Terror, but thats my only disappointment in their set. John Nolan is absolutely amazing, and they certainly seemed much happier here than they did in the South Florida shows. And Hands In The Sky is one of the best songs performed live ever.
I spoke to Kevin after the show, and he is such a great guy! I adore his personality! He definitely made me smile. I told him he had to come back asap and play You Are My Sunshine, No Time Flat, and People are So Fickle. I said I'd bake him cookies, but hold them hostage until he played those songs. I really loved him, and I hope he remembers me next time. Then I got John Nolan to talk to Justine, but I embarassed myself in the meantime haha. I was really akward, as Cathy can be, but what can you do? He doesn't remember me, which is a shame. Oh and Will and Shaun are so very nice, I love them!
Then my cab came and I had to leave, but I got to catch up with Justine which was awesome! But then I couldn't go to sleep because Tasha and Jim were arguing about the existance of gravity and their lack of movement forward annoyed me. Whatever.
