Melange!!

First, Happy Belated Birthday, brooklinegirl!!!! I hope your day was fantabulous! I feel bad that I have no porn for you. :o(

Second, the title. My friend Marcus made me a cd with Tom Waits' 'Temptation' on it for the production of Salome I did in March and then he put a bunch of other songs that he really likes on the disc and titled it "Melange!!". I found the disc last night when I was cleaning out the door pocket of my car, Teeny Technosass, the 1999 Honda Civic hatchback, in preparation for taking her in for service.

Which brings me to my next topic. My car. A few weeks ago the driver's side mirror was broken off by some asshole in the middle of the night. I went out one morning and the mirror was on the ground by my car, the housing dangling from a bit of adhesive on the door. I finally called Honda on Monday to schedule service. They told me the part was in stock and I made the appointment for this morning. I take my car in this morning, dropping it off at 7am, only to find that the part is no longer in stock at the dealership. The service liaison said "Well, a lot of times even if a part is in stock on Monday or Tuesday, it won't be there by Thursday."

In response to this statement I have a question: "IF I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE BASED ON THE AVAILABILITY OF A PART, SHOULDN'T YOU RESERVE THE PART FOR ME????"

According to their search, two other local dealerships have the part in their inventory. They were not able to call and see if those dealerships actually had the part available or if those were earmarked for someone already because the parts departments for those dealerships weren't open yet. So I left the car at the dealership and will wait to hear back from them.
I was nice, I was polite. I explained that while I work in Seattle, I live in Everett and don't always bring my car in to the city. Most of the time I ride the train. Hopefully they understand that they're really inconveniencing me if I have to special order the part and then bring the car back in another day. I will be asking either for a discount on the work or a free lube & oil change if that happens.

And last, but not least, Happy Birthday to my dad. Today would have been his 74th birthday. His headstone is in place, so my mom is going to take some flowers up to the cemetary. And Sunday when I go down to visit Mom for Mother's Day, we'll go visit Daddy. I wished him a Happy Birthday this morning as I got out of bed and spent a few minutes at my altar with candles lit. I did a three card tarot spread that heralded new beginnings after a struggle and that said I had the strength to do what was necessary.

Now, rather than end on a sad note, I will share a wee bit of funny that happened at work the other day. I had my headphones on, listening to Uncle Bonsai sing "Penis Envy" while I entered a check request into the system for a person with the last name of Dick. *g*
