To quote the tail end of my last post...
"Granted, this probably means I'm going to be playing too much for a bit."
Yeah, about that. The foot switch I mentioned is still performing admirably two months later, and I have most definitely been playing too much. But, I've been enjoying myself and it hasn't gotten in the way of serious obligations, so whatever. It goes without saying that I've been sucked back into World of Warcraft fairly hard, and without the creeping pain to force a hiatus, and -with- the upcoming expansion, I expect my fixation to last for a few more months at least.
I took up (read: was dabbling in) painting just before this. Guess what I haven't touched recently? Yeah, that half-finished painting in my art room. Oh, and I tidied up my art room a bit. Sort of. Not 100% yet, but it's quasi-functional. I even have a little swivel-stool! I think I want a full-on saddle seat, though, at some point. It's on the to-do list, but not high right now. This'll do for now.
Back on the subject of WoW, my
very casual social-and-primarily-pve guild on US-Bloodhoof got their first all-guild Lich King kill a week or so ago. I took
screenshots. I was very excited.
I flirted with the idea of doing NaNoWriMo this year, but ultimately opted out. I did, however, use that flirtation to launch me on good fleshing out of concepts for characters/setting/a potential story I've had stewing in my head since I moved back to Seattle from Bellevue just over three years ago. It still needs work (like, a beginning-middle-end plotline) to distinguish it from purely nifty characters in a nifty setting being nifty, but it's gotten some much needed love in the last couple-few weeks.
The eldest of my two brothers has snaked his way around the world, through Europe and the Middle East, into the Indian subcontinent and has most recently found himself in China. He took down his art/music website and travel blog, which made me sad, but that's his bag. I glee mightily at every email I get relating snippets of his adventures.
My current focus is cleaning my ivory tower and putting together a menu in preparation for the relatively small feast-making and -hosting I shall be doing next Thursday. If I have friends who are not already plantastic with family, friends, or friends-of-friends for the National Holiday of Gluttony and Fellowship, my door is open. I have hugs, and I'm not afraid to share them.
Life continues apace.
