BLIMEY! Just returned from a three-day course in Gloucester. Good God, the man who ran it was a complete Hitler. Barking orders, being patronising, making us synchronise our watches (I kid you not!) At one point I did feel compelled to stand and salute "Sir, yes sir!" Geez... And this guy is respected by newspaper editors because he is 'tough'? The expression is 'sad little man on a power trip'. You know the saying: those who CAN'T, teach. (Sorry Owen if you're reading this!) Hate to admit, but he has probably taught me quite a lot. That said, a lot of other people could have done in it a more pleasant, and just as effective manner.
Stayed in a gorgeous hotel with FANTASTIC food. Mmmmmm....swordfish....bring it on! While its always great to stay in a hotel and charge everything to your company, the whole experience was so stressful and tiring, it more or less outweighed the small pleasures we indulged in. We are talking whole days of non-stop mock exams, in an attempt to prepare us for the real thing two weeks today (bites nails*) Still not convinced I'm going to pass all three, although my marks the last few days have been encouraging, especially as the little man is known for being a harsh marker. Hey ho..
Kelly was on the course too and it was really nice to see her. It had been a while. We did manage to make time for a little idle, girly chit-chat about clothes, men and hair, which was of course fabulous darling.
No idea what I'm doing tonight, but really should make my mind up soon as it's getting late. I should be going to Heather's leaving do in Trowbridge, and will feel awful if I let her down, but I'm absolutely braindead and exhausted and not sure what sort of company I'll be. All depends whether Ed finished work on time and if he's going straight from the office so I can get a lift home. Oh, I don't know. I guess I should call him.
Anyway, I'll be off, to probably just mope around being tired and lazy.
Love you all, JJ xx
P.S. Hi Ali!
