Just because I think it's worth a chuckle, and it's occasionally fun to traumatize my friends...
I enjoy writing. My Muse is starting to wake up, also, and pull some stories out of hibernation, and I feel the build-up to some short stories coming up. Two places that I have made it clear that I would love to be published in are: The New Yorker (who pays OMFG for a short story) and Playboy (who pays something like $10k for a non-erotic fiction short story).
My dad happens to have a subscription to one of these magazines, and I've been told that if I would like to borrow them to see what's getting published in today's market, I'm wlecome to.
Let's just say the subscription he has is not for the magazines I'll be bringing with me to work...
