The realtor had been by earlier for the spare keys and a final inspection. He hoped the place would sell quickly or at least get a tenant that would not tear the place up in the mean time. He tied his shoelaces and felt the aching sadness return. The house he had picked out with Sara, the one they had both thought perfect, wouldn’t be their home anymore.
He whistled for Hank and closed the door to the house and on his time in Vegas. Tropical climes and Sara were his future, the emotional desert of Vegas was rapidly becoming his past, and for the first time in months, despite the flash of regret over the house, he felt good.
