stupid fridge
i AM smarter than the fridge...
...but only just barely. :P
i just spent an hour and a variety of tools trying to switch the handles from left to right. much swearing and teeth gnashing and fist shaking ensued. an hour and some later... i am posting to LJ and finishing up the last of the Hazelnut Chip Coffee Ice Cream (hey, it was all melty because the freezer door was off for an hour. I had to save it, right?)
longish day... had to work from 7 - 2p, came home, changed, went the gym, had a very satisfying work-out, went to Sam's Club to pick up a vat of Cottage Cheese, Lowes to get a rack for the Freezer of Doom - it had to be special ordered, so the suggestion was made to get the Closet Maid wire racks or something and cut it down to size. i opted for 2 plastic stacking drawers that fit in the floor model1.
came home, ate dinner, updated lladyyasmina, retouched the relaxer in my hair, and prepared to undertake what I thought would be a 15 - 20 min job.
*grumble grumble slam swear grr argh bleh whine*... doors switched; no extra parts lying around (that being an important part; because i did forget to switch one metal gasket thingie; so i had to take the freezer door off the hinge- which i fought with for 20 min getting it on- but all went back together much easier). It hurts to type at this moment because my right index finger is suffering from inadvertent screwdriver stabification. didn't break the skin, but hurts like a mofo.
1after all that... the drawers didn't fit. The floor model is a slightly different design from what i have; the drawers are too big. *grumble grr argh pieceofshitcheapass grr* so i took the drawers out of the frames and stacked them... i can't tell for certain if i'm getting a good seal on the door. i have to push it a little to close it... but it doesn't look like its popping back open. Tho, it opens insanely easily with just a little pull on the handle. I'll see how things are in the AM... it would be a shame tho; because the freezer is MUCH more organized now. I still have too much fish. A 2-gal drawer filled with tilapia and salmon steak. something's not right about that, i think. ;)
11:30. tired bubbie. Chocolate Festival and Esbat tomorrow. maybe a nap somewhere in there. i have to get up early tho; didn't get to straighten my hair because of the damned fridge, so that will have to happen tomorrow AM. *yawns*
