Japan Winter 2011 Trip - Week 2 (12/26/2011-1/1/2012)
12/26/2011 (Monday)
Spent all day working on copy-bon pages. Met up with Naru (dgm_allenwalker) for the first time for dinner at Denny's in Ikebukuro, and then a stop at Book Off and parfaits at Milky Way Cafe. Then back to the apartment and continued working on more pages!

Another day spent working on pages. Went out to meet up with Mew (gokumew2) to get Natsume San DVDs, but didn't get them/didn't meet up, so I went back to work on more pages.
12/28/2011 (Wednesday)
And another day working on pages. Went to the post office ATM to get some money. By night time, it was obvious I wasn't going to finish on time, so I stopped and set it aside. Will try for next event. Spent the rest of the night preparing gifts and other things for Comiket Day 1.
12/29/2011 (Thursday)
Got up around 4:30am and met up with my Twitter friend Yuki at the Yurikamome entrance at Shin-kiba station at 6:20am. We got to Big Sight around 7am and lined up for West Hall, where the No.6 spaces would be. By 10am, we were just at the foot of the escalators inside West Hall. =)
We split up the shopping for No.6 books, then split up for East Hall circles. I went to East Hall 1-2-3 for Kingdom Hearts, and she went to East Hall 4-5-6. I gave my gifts to Negi and Pure-san. And I also asked Pure-san for a sketchbook request and told her I followed her on Twitter. She was slightly familiar with my handle. XD I bet I made an impactful impression because I dropped coins in front of her space... OTL
After hitting the circles, Yuki and I met up again to go get in line for the cosplay changing room. Took nearly an hour just to get into the changing room! But location was up on the 6th floor... you know the part that makes up the upside-down pyramids? Yeah, in there! They had various rooms for changing, but inside, it was basically find an open space and start changing. Because I wore my binder in the morning, I didn't have to worry about changing into it there. Unfortunately, I couldn't get in the contacts so I went without them.
When we finished, I stopped back at Pure-san's table to pick up my sketchbook, and she gave me back more coins that I had dropped. Yuki and I went to the No.6 area again, and I heard someone comment, "Aw, it's Shion and his mom! Cute~" XD KL had asked me to go around saying hi to a few circles, so now was the time to do so (in cosplay XD). Yuki helped me out when I ran into a couple language hurdles, but for the most part, I did fine.
And then, we finally went to the cosplay area outside. At first, we were just looking around, but not one but TWO pairs of Shion and Nezumi cosplayers found us. Between the 6 of us, I think we got a lot of pictures. XD I still have to send them my pictures and get some from them in exchange. I also found a pair of Inga and Kazamori cosplayers from UN-GO. We stayed out there until closing, and then went back to the changing room. Didn't get out of Big Sight until 6pm. Cue Yuki and I being very tired and hungry, but very fulfilled. We went to a cafe for drinks and food since we'd only eaten breakfast in line. And then I found out that Yuki is a fan of KL's. XDb Finally, we had to separate, and yes, I was corny and used the "Saikai wo kanarazu" line on her. She knew it was coming, LOL. /No.6 dorks

Day 2 of Comiket, I slept in an left around 8am. I got in line around 9am, and was in by 10:25am. I went and got some Inazuma Eleven books (AuroraVision! I loved her Brave Story and HikaGo books) as well as MAGI books. I have no idea of the contents of any books I got from either series, lol. Then, I went to check out the cosplay area again, but didn't find much that interested me. Found Alibaba and Morigana from MAGI (so pretty!) and then a couple from MadoMagi (props on the spokes!).

I left around noon and met up with Christie and her friend Angela at Daiba, and we went to have omurice for lunch in Aqua City. They have lady sets.... so quaint and small-sized! Then, made a stop in the Daiso there, and also found the Noitamina shop there where they had rebuilt the AnoHana hideout and were playing UN-GO bits as well as "Inga Nikki." I took them to Ikebukuro and showed them where various places were in Otome Road, and met up with Mew (yay for Natsume DVDs!). The four of us went to Sunshine City for drinks and cake.

Then, I headed off to the bounenkai with Febby (festivewind), Yoshi, and two of his co-workers M-san and T-san at Kakoiya in Shinjuku. Watching Febby fangirl while flipping through the InaIre doujin I bought was highly entertaining. XD After dinner, Febby had to go, but the rest of us went to karaoke for 2 hours.

Yoshi went to Comiket Day 3, but I slept in. I tried going to Citibank, but their exchange counter was closed until the 4th. Post office ATMs were the same.
Later, Yoshi and I headed down to Yokosuka to his grandma's place. We watched Kouhaku on TV and went to hatsumode at the local neighborhood shrine.
01/01/2012 (Sunday)
There was an M7 earthquake in the afternoon (from Chiba direction), but it wasn't too bad. Called home via Skype to wish Mom and Jim Happy New Year. Around 7pm, we headed back to Shinagawa and got some omiyage. After stopping back at the apartment for some preparations, we headed out again to Shibuya to line up for the lucky bags at the Apple store. We got there around 11pm and started camping out.
