Fall 2011 Anime Watch List

Oct 16, 2011 01:02

Finally got to watching everything, except for one show, so I've determined my actual watch list now.

If I had to pick the ones that I would absolutely watch this seasons, the ones that make me want to watch them right away when they come out are the ones I colored in magenta. Well... the entire list ended up being a long list again. XD; Though still about 4 shows less than the summer season. XD;

Watching :: New for Fall season
  • Chihayafuru - It has nice, solid animation. I don't know the story because I never read the manga, but I know that the manga's doing well in Japan (before the anime). So I guess I can expect good things of the show. Though, I can't quite follow karuta. XD;
  • Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi S2 - On my definitely watch list. I don't have to say anything else besides that. XD And I finally got around to reading vol.6... wow. I can't believe the countdown is still about 1/2 a year, lol.
  • Mirai Nikki - The animation does not disappoint! They way they animated Yuno's face at the end of ep.1.... that was good. And they even made Yuno's body proportions much more appealing, hahaha. XD So, the manga has ended, but I still wonder how far they're going to take the show, and if they manage to get to the end, how they're going to depict it... But at this point, I can say I'm glad to see this animated! XDb
  • Bakuman S2 - Same as usual. ♥ I want to see Perfect Crime Party animated, but that's just wishful thinking, huh... (been keeping up with the manga tanks)
  • Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle - I was curious about this one because it was about puzzles, and it's not bad. They put in different types of puzzles, so it doesn't get boring. Watching this show makes me want to see Double Arts animated though... because Kaito's pants make me think of Kiri's pants, lol.
  • Persona 4 - This was not originally on my watch list. But I thought I'd give it a shot after all. A little something different in the mix. Haven't played the games, so not really sure what to expect. So far, not bad? In fact, I like the main character's smirk at the end of the first episode. =)
  • Hunter x Hunter - I hadn't watched the original except for the 2-hour crash course milk_of_lime ran me through the last time I visited. XD It's not bad, and there's lots of orchestral BGM, which is nice. The only thing that may take some time adjusting to is hearing Sawashiro Miyuki voicing a male character (Kurapika). I'm so used to her voicing female roles...
  • C Cube/Cube x Cursed x Curious - The promo image is what got me curious to watch this one. Little did I expect.... panty shots, large eyes, and lots of humor in the first ep? Definitely targeted toward guys. In its favor, though, the colors are very nice, and Kaji (Shion's seiyuu in NO.6) voices the main character. At first I was having doubts about wanting to continue watching it after the first episode, but after the second episode, things really took an interesting turn, and watching the main "girl" switch like that, who wouldn't continue watching? XD
  • Guilty Crown - Another show with Kaji as MC! =D The character design images were really nice, though the anime images they used in the magazines threw me off a little with the overly Photoshop'd dodge effects on the hair. Luckily, it seems like it's not that overdone in the actual anime. XD;; I'm curious how they'll explain all the flashbacks.
  • Un-Go - Wasn't sure what to expect with this one. Though, I'm glad it's not laden with complicated stuff.
  • Working!! S2 - I don't have as much enthusiasm for this show as much as I did the first season, but the animation quality is higher. =)
  • Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai - Can I expect lots of parodies to make their way into the show? XD Since it looked like the character design was by the one who did Denpa Shoujo and Seishun Otoko, I was totally expecting crazy antics... and I wasn't disappointed, especially with ep.2 when they did PSP/PS3 inclusions with "Monster Hunter" and a girl game. XD
  • Kimi to Boku. - This one is very slice of life, a little on the boring side unless what you want is slice of life. I think I kind of lost my enthusiasm for this one, but I'm keeping it on my watch list anyways. XD;
  • TOTAL :: 13

Watching :: Continued for Fall season
  • Inazuma Eleven GO - Same as always. XD I like the use of more classical music as well as more epic-sounding music during the matches, heh.
  • Morita-san wa Mukuchi S2 - I didn't realize that it was continuing for another seasons. But at 5 minutes per ep, I get a little dose of slice of life each time I watch it. XD It's very slice of life, but since it's so short, it doesn't get boring.
  • Mawaru Penguindrum - This show continues to throw in twists and turns. I seriously don't know what to expect with this show, LOL.
  • SKET Dance - I'm waiting for more episodes like the rock fest arc or Switch's past arc... I feel like those have more interesting stories. Otherwise, the show is pretty normal.
  • TOTAL :: 4

Dropping
  • Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! - Gave this two eps before I decided. First ep was a bit overloaded with character introductions and lots of chaos. I liked that Kamiya voiced the main character. The second half of the first ep was a bit more interesting, but I found that the entire second episode wasn't that interesting to me...
  • Maken-Ki! - I was going to check this out, but then decided not to.
  • Mashiro-iro Symphony - Same for this one as well.
  • Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon - Too much narrative and information overload. I got really confused watching the first ep, and the second one did not help clear up anything from the first one. The main character is a smiley guy who likes fondling boobs and eroge...... At this point, the saving point is the BGM. I might give it another episode or two before deciding that I really want to drop it or not. (Maybe)
  • TOTAL :: 3 or 4

Unwatched
  • Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing - Still waiting for it to air.

I noticed that the ones I dropped were more or less harem anime, lol.
