Chapter 12

Ryan eventually gave up on hiding in their room and Brendon convinced him they had to talk to someone about it, there was the chance it could have been dangerous. So when Ryan opened the door, he stuck his head outside to check no one was in the hallway.

“You sure they’re in the library?” Ryan asked as they walked quickly towards the stairs.

“Yeah, they’re not in their room and I heard Pete’s voice coming from there.” Brendon confirmed, holding Ryan’s hand in his own. “They’ll know how to fix this.”

Once they reached the library, Brendon hesitated just a second before walking in, and Ryan followed him immediately. There were a few people hanging out there, and definitely more than Ryan had thought. As they stepped in, everyone shut up.

“Uh.” Gabe commented in the stunned silence.

“You idiot, I thought you checked it was only Pete and Patrick.” Ryan turned and slapped Brendon on the arm, furious.

“Don’t worry, we don’t mind.” Mikey smirked from his seat on the couch, eyeing Ryan’s half-naked figure and his now spread white wings. He was wearing nothing more than a pair of tight jeans, and he was trying to cover himself as much as possible with his arms.

“Remind me again why we’re not having sex.” William arched an eyebrow at his friend, gaining a weird look from Bryce.

“Brendon and Gabe. And probably because we’re step brothers.” Ryan glared at him, then turned towards Pete.

“Oh, right.” William nodded slowly and smirked.

“If you’re so shy, you could use them to cover your very very inviting body.” Mikey suggested with an amused grin.

“Stop staring at my wing-equipped boyfriend.” Brendon glared at the group, then looked at Pete as well.

“I can’t make these damn things go away.” Ryan gestured towards the wings, defeated. “Please, tell me you know what’s wrong with me.”

“Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong.” Pete smiled widely and reached him. “But I’m afraid you’ll have to live with them for a little while.”

“What?” Ryan almost yelled, shocked by that answer.

“I have no idea why it happens, but the first time you grow wings you have to wait for them to disappear naturally.” Pete explained with a trace of amusement in his voice. “And since you’re stuck with those, my advice is to try out wing sex, it’s kind of amazing.”

“Been there, done that.” Brendon immediately replied with a grin.

“Brendon, shut the fuck up.” Ryan hissed, turning to glare at him.

“While you’re at it, you could learn how to use them.” Mikey shrugged, standing from the couch.

“You mean we can fly?” Brendon beamed, surprising both Pete and Mikey.

“What, you thought they were decorative?” Pete laughed as his hand caressed the upper edge of one of Ryan’s wings. “You know what? I think it’s time for the three of you to learn.” He added as he gestured at Brendon and William as well. “And Tom.”

“Tom already learned.” Mikey informed with a little smile. “I’m a good teacher.”

“Then you won’t mind teaching them.” Pete retorted immediately with a sarcastic grin, convinced Mikey was about to flip him off.

“Okay.” Mikey shrugged dismissively, looking at the young vampires. “We don’t mind, right Saporta?”

“Why me? You hate me, you don’t want to work with me.” Gabe sighed, visibly annoyed.

“I’m teaching Ryan only because we’re kind of relatives.” Mikey explained with a glare, and Ryan addressed him a surprised glance. “You, cariño, are teaching your own Childer.”

“Did we really have to bring him back?” Gabe whined, looking at Pete and a very amused Patrick. “I liked him better when he was a bad guy.”

“I wasn’t a bad guy.” Mikey pointed out, grinning at him.

“Whatever.” Gabe glared at him some more, then looked at William. “You wanna do this?”

“Definitely.” William grinned, then turned to look at Brendon. “How do we do this?”

“Matrix.” Brendon nodded solemnly. “Just repeat ‘the wings exist’ sixty times and they’ll grow.”

“This is going to be so much fun.” Patrick snickered as Pete, Mikey and Gabe burst out laughing. Bryce watched the scene with a wide amused smile, and Ryan shook his head, less worried. At least he wasn’t going to be the only one going around with wings.

Later that night

“What if someone sees you?” Bryce asked with a worried frown as William moved his white wings tentatively.

“Maja and Butch placed more magic fields around the house, no one can come in or see us.” William explained with a smile, standing with the werewolf in the back porch while the others got ready just a few feet away. “Bryce.” William hesitated just a second, then resumed talking. “I’m sorry for what happened with Tom.”

“It’s okay.” Bryce nodded slowly, looking at Mikey as he bit on his lower lip. “Mikey says he calmed down now.”

“He did.” William admitted with a sigh. “But he’s not gonna give up easily, he’s gonna fight for this.”

“Even if Mikey doesn’t want him to?” Bryce turned to look at William with a frown.

“Especially if Mikey doesn’t want him to.” William looked at the group standing not far.

“Where am I supposed to fit in there?” Bryce chuckled unhappily, keeping his eyes on the vampire.

“Honestly?” William looked back at his friend, his gaze serious. “I’ve known Tom since I was a kid, he’s been one of my best friends for years. Don’t ask me to tell you it’s okay to stay with Mikey if that means Tom will get hurt.”

“Okay.” Bryce looked down at the wooden floor, nodding slowly.

“But if Mikey chooses you over him, then I guess you’ll have my blessing.” William’s face was still serious, but his voice was somewhat softer.

“I just don’t want to hurt anyone.” Bryce sighed and finally turned to meet the vampire’s eyes again.

“Sometimes you can’t avoid it.” William addressed him an apologetic smile.

“Bill, are you part of this or not?” Gabe called from the garden, looking at him.

“Go.” Bryce turned, intentioned to head towards the door, but William stopped him.

“Where are you going?” William frowned in confusion.

“Upstairs.” Bryce shrugged and showed a little smile. “It’s better if I’m not here when Tom comes out and it’s not like I’m gonna be useful for this, anyway.”

“Bryce.” William looked at him in the eye, glaring. “Stop thinking you’re not welcome here.” He took a deep breath and shook his head. “So okay, you and Tom don’t get along, but you’re part of the family now.”

“You keep saying that.” Bryce chuckled at those words, looking away.

“Because it’s the truth.” William brought his hand to Bryce’s shoulder, squeezing. “And sometimes people in families fight and can’t stand each other.”

Bryce bit on his lip at those words and something in his gaze changed. “Am I really part of this family?”

“Only if you want to.” William replied with a smile, stepping closer. “No matter what happens with Mikey, you’re welcome here.”

Bryce looked up and a little smile tugged at his lips. “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me.” William pulled him in a brief hug and felt him relax. “Now let’s go break some bones trying to use these things.”

“Okay.” Bryce let out a soft laughter, walking beside William as they reached the group.

“Everything okay?” Gabe asked, cocking an eyebrow.

“Sure.” William addressed him a smile and stretched his wings. “So, how do we do this?”

Brendon reached them, while Ryan stood next to Mikey, waiting with his arms crossed and a worried look on his face.

“Shouldn’t you show us how you do it, first?” Brendon arched an eyebrow, looking at Gabe.

“You just want me to take off my shirt so you can see my boobs.” Gabe shrugged and William barely repressed a laughter. “First, you need to learn the movements.” He added as he placed himself in front of William. “Spread them completely, then pull them back as much as you can.”

“Like this?” William moved his wings back until they were back to back, just a few inches separating them.

“Exactly.” Gabe nodded and turned to look at Brendon, who did the same thing. “Now, bring them forward until you feel them pressed against your shoulders. Just, don’t do it --”

Gabe’s sentence was stopped by William’s yell as he moved his wings forwards quickly and found himself flying several feet backwards.

“-- too fast.” Gabe finished with a smirk.

“I think you should have told him that before.” Mikey snickered, watching as William slowly walked towards the group.

“Shut up.” Gabe flipped the other vampire off. “You’re leaving the boring stuff to me.”

“Fine.” Mikey grinned and glanced at Ryan. “Spread your wings and pull them up until they’re aligned with the ground.” Ryan did as told and looked tentatively at the vampire. “Good. Now pull them down, quickly.” Ryan hesitated just a second, then did as told. The force of the movements sent him up in the air with a scream, and Mikey smiled to himself. “Now do what William did.”

“Holy shit.” Ryan yelled as he resumed moving his wings, moving in the air like he belonged there. “It’s amazing.”

“I love you, Gabe, but I’m afraid Mikey’s a better teacher.” William snickered, while Brendon mimicked Ryan’s moves, finding himself in the air as well.

“Well, at least I’m better in bed.” Gabe shrugged, his hand caressing the edge of William’s left wing.

“I wouldn’t be so sure.” Mikey grinned, but kept an eye on Brendon and Ryan.

“No.” William pointed his finger at Gabe, glaring. “You cannot, in any way, convince me to answer the question you’re about to ask.”

“Mean.” Gabe pouted a bit and crossed his arms. “My ego is deeply offended by this.”

“Your ego is a five years old girl in a pink tutu.” Mikey laughed at Gabe’s annoyed stare.

William joined the laughter and Gabe looked at him with his mouth wide open in fake indignation. “You little traitor.”

“Catch me.” William grinned and moved his wings quickly, rising from the ground.

“Am I entitled to feel a little jealous about the wings?” Bryce asked with a wide smile, looking at the three vampires flying above them.

“You are.” Mikey chuckled, amused by his words. “I can take you for a ride, if you want.”

“Really?” Bryce beamed, turning to look at the vampire.

Mikey smiled back and took off his shirt in a fluid movement, then closed his eyes and his wings grew quickly.

William saw it and immediately landed next to him, an incredulous smile on his face. “Mikey.” He whispered with awe, raising his hand but pulling it back before actually touching the wings. “They’re white.”

“They are.” Mikey confirmed, under Bryce’s perplexed glance. “I told you I wasn’t a bad guy.”

Gabe reached them and chuckled, eyeing the white feathers. “Smart move, Way.”

“Oh, fuck off.” Mikey laughed and turned away from him. Before anyone had the chance to say anything he lifted Bryce from the ground and took off.

“Oh shit.” Bryce whispered, gripping Mikey’s shoulders and looking down. Ryan and Brendon both turned and smiled as Mikey flew past them, holding Bryce safely.

“You like it?” Mikey laughed and slowed down, flying right above the house, far enough from the group.

“I’m scared to death.” Bryce admitted, moving his arms to circle Mikey’s neck. “But it’s amazing.”

“Don’t worry, I’ve got you.” Mikey whispered, pressing a kiss on Bryce’s jaw.

The werewolf looked surprised by that tender gesture and smiled, resting his head against Mikey’s shoulder. “Thank you.”

“It’s a pleasure, dogg-- Avary.” Mikey corrected himself at the last second, but Bryce just smiled wider, forgetting for a minute about everything else.

William watched them from the ground for a few seconds, smiling softly. Gabe circled his waist with an arm and placed a kiss on William’s temple. “I love you.” He whispered with a little smile.

William turned to look at him, slightly surprised, and kissed him, ignoring Brendon’s whistle.

“Is this a making out session or what?” Pete asked as he walked towards them with a smile. “Where’s Mikey?”

Gabe grinned and gestured above. When Pete saw Mikey and Bryce something in his gaze shifted, and William frowned, unsure.

“Mikey.” Pete called with an even voice, the ghost of a smirk on his lips. “Come down here, Butch wants to talk to you.”

They all watched as Mikey slowly flew towards them, then landed with an elegant move despite Bryce was still clinging to him for dear life. “About what?”

“How the hell am I supposed to know?” Pete shrugged at him and Mikey rolled his eyes. “Let’s go.” Mikey nodded and followed him inside without a word, leaving a perplexed Bryce behind.

“D’you think it’s something bad?” Bryce asked with a worried frown, turning to look at William.

“I don’t know.” William sighed, looking up at the sky, where Ryan and Brendon were still practicing.

“I’m starting to think we’re never gonna get away from this job.” Spencer sighed as he turned the pages of the old book resting on the desk.

“With great power comes great responsibility.” Jon stood from the bed and slowly reached him.

“We’re not Spider-man and Catwoman.” Spencer smiled when he felt Jon’s hands on his shoulders.

“We’re more like Batman and Robin.” Jon started a slow, soothing massage and felt the other boy relax under his touch. “But we’re actually better.”

“Really?” Spencer let out a soft laughter, closing his eyes.

“Really. You’re totally Batman.” Jon leaned down, placing a kiss on Spencer’s neck. “Responsible, brave, noble and even scary sometimes.”

“And you’re Robin.” Spencer rested his head back against Jon’s stomach. “But he’s a sidekick.”

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Jon confirmed with a whisper.

Spencer stood from his chair slowly and turned to look at his boyfriend, smiling warmly. “You’re the only human being I know that can be so damn sweet while talking about comics.”

“It’s a gift.” Jon smirked, pulling Spencer in a hug. “I wasn’t this sappy before meeting you.”

“So now it’s my fault?” Spencer circled Jon’s neck with his arms, smiling as well.

“Yep.” Jon leaned down and pressed a kiss to the corner of Spencer’s mouth. “You bring out the best of me.”

Spencer’s smile widened even more at that and buried his face in Jon’s neck. “Batman would be nothing without his Robin.”

“Brendon.” Jon said with a clearly amused voice.

“That’s not exactly the answer I was hoping to hear.” Spencer withdrew, a bit confused.

“No, Brendon.” Jon pointed at the window behind Spencer and the boy turned. Brendon was floating right outside their room, his face just a few inches from the glass, sporting a wide grin.

“Are you going to have sex?” Brendon asked without hesitation.

“You’re a creep.” Jon laughed, breaking the embrace, then walked to the window.

“Don’t let him in.” Spencer glared, but Jon had already opened the window and Brendon hopped in, smirking.

“I’m here to suck your blood.” Brendon said in a hoarse, deep voice, walking towards Spencer with a threatening look in his eyes.

“Weird, I thought you were gonna say cock instead of blood.” Spencer glared some more, while Jon laughed at the comeback.

“You’re no fun.” Brendon pouted a bit, then turned towards the other boy. “Jon Walker, save me from the bitchface.”

“The bitchface always wins.” Jon shook his head, then laughed when Brendon snorted. Ryan reached the window right then and hopped inside as well.

“You look good with wings.” Jon smiled and reached for Ryan’s feathers, caressing them briefly.

“Thank you.” Ryan addressed him a pleasantly surprised look and let his lips curve up. “I’m here to retrieve my boyfriend and let you have sex.”

“Sex would be good.” Spencer nodded, watching as Ryan gripped Brendon’s arm and walked towards the window.

“Have fun.” Brendon smirked and followed Ryan easily, both of them disappearing above the house a second later.

“This place is crazy.” Spencer laughed, and let himself fall on the bed while Jon closed the window and the curtains.

“Now we should be safe.” Jon reached the bed as well, standing there for a second.

“Then come here.” Spencer bit on his lower lip and spread his legs to make room for Jon.

Three days later

Pete jerked awake as soon as the alarms went off, cursing under his breath as he reached for his gun.

“Of course Ashlee would show up at fucking four in the morning.” Pete growled as he opened the door of the control room.

“What did you expect, a bunch of flowers?” Patrick yawned as he checked his own gun. When Pete didn’t say anything, he reached the room as well. “What, she’s got a shotgun or what?”

“Shit, it’s not her.” Pete pointed at one of the screens, and both him and Patrick quickly headed for the door.

As soon as they walked downstairs, Butch and Maja joined them. “What’s going on?”

“Hayley’s here.” Pete announced, his voice tense and worried. “And she’s not alone.”

“Fuck.” Butch cursed, putting his gun away while Bianca reached the hall as well. “Tell your guys to stay inside, it’s not something they can fight.”

“Okay.” Pete nodded, much to Patrick’s surprise. “How can we help you?”

“I’m not sure.” Butch admitted, pinching the bridge of his nose. “The fields should be strong enough to keep her out, it’s not like her to risk a direct assault.”

“She probably wants the book back.” Maja bit on her lip, thoughtful.

Pete headed for the door and opened it before anyone could stop him, and the others followed him immediately.

“What the fuck are you doing, Wentz?” Butch reached him, furious.

Pete ignored him and cocked his gun, walking quickly towards the gate. Without a word he reached it and saw a redhead girl standing on the other side, Hayley, along with three guys. Two of them had black eyes, while the third’s were red.

“Pete Wentz, it’s such an honor to meet a celebrity.” Hayley smiled at the vampire, then glared in Butch’s direction.

“What the hell d’you want from me, you sick fuck?” Pete felt other people join him but didn’t turn to look.

“Well, I have to admit you’re tougher than I thought, Saporta” One of the black-eyed guys said, smirking, and the group understood he was one of the demons that had attacked Gabe.

“You fucking bastard.” William took a step towards the gate, but both Bob and Butch gripped his arm and pulled him back.

“Shut up, Josh.” Hayley hissed, irritated, then turned back towards Pete. “I’m here to make a deal.”

“There’s nothing you can offer me.” Pete held her gaze, keeping his gun ready. “I could shoot you right now and end this.”

“D’you really think I’m stupid enough to stand in front of you without any kind of defense?” Hayley arched an eyebrow, perplexed. “Quite frankly, it offends me.”

“Yeah, well, I’ll cry myself to sleep.” Pete addressed her a sarcastic smile, then gestured towards Jeremy. “Nice boyfriend.”

“I have other things to do today, so can you please just shut up and listen?” Hayley rolled her eyes and Jeremy smirked beside her.

“You’re the weirdest villain ever.” Pete said, then shook his head slowly. “If you want the book, forget it, you can go home.”

“Well, that’s a shame.” Hayley pursed her lips, disappointed. “If you reconsider this, I’ll let you keep your Manor.”

“And if I don’t?” Pete looked at her straight in the eye, determined.

“Then every single demon and Keebo escaped from Hell will attack this place.” Hayley replied, gesturing towards the house. “And trust me, not even Butch’s magic is gonna save your sorry asses.” The group stood completely silent, and Pete clenched his jaw, trying to repress the urge to just jump the girl and tear her eyes out. “I’ll give you four days to make up your mind, Wentz. And consider yourself under siege.”

Pete watched as she turned and walked towards a black car, followed by her buddies.

“Fuck.”

A/N: Maybe I should have warned you about the drama. LOL But yeah, we’re here now, and they’re in deep, deep shit and if you think this is all I think you’ll have another surprise. More drama to come in next chapter.
Apart from that, William said his own opinion about the Mikey-Bryce-Tom thing, finally. Also, I guess the Joncer lovers are happy-ish now, but don’t worry, there’ll be more of them.
It’s all for now, let me know what you think about this and watch out for the second part of the Peterick prequel on Wednesday.
See you next Sunday! ;)JM
