Vampire hunting is the world's oldest profession (And I, dear Madame, am a professional), with references to the main story at the end.
~
The first time William saw Mikey Way, he was fifteen. And he couldn’t stop staring.
He’d heard Pete talk about him before, they all had, but for some reason Pete had never wanted him or Ryan, or any of the guys to meet the vampire. Patrick never said anything, but William knew it was him who had asked Pete to keep Mikey away from them.
So when finally one night Mikey showed up without warning, and stood on their doorstep with a self confident smirk, Patrick held his gaze fiercely, standing right in front of him.
William and Tom had walked downstairs to the hall when the doorbell had rang, and now they were a few feet behind Patrick, sitting on the steps and trying to understand what was going on.
“Pete isn’t here.” Patrick looked at Mikey in the eye, his voice steady. “Won’t be home before morning.”
“I guess I’ll have to wait for him.” Mikey shrugged, the grin never leaving his lips.
“Mikey…” Patrick started, narrowing his eyes. William heard the name and stood slowly, taking a few steps towards the door.
“Are you gonna let me in or what?” Mikey looked amused by Patrick’s hostility.
“Or what.” Patrick never broke eye contact, and his rage increased when Mikey chuckled. “I thought Pete made it clear. You don’t come here. Never.”
“Sorry to disappoint you, Stump, but I’m not one of your little soldiers.” Mikey’s tone sounded more annoyed than amused now, and William frowned. “We’re gonna discuss this all night, or you’re gonna let me in?”
William felt Tom reach him and they both stood still, waiting for Patrick to do something. They could feel how thick the tension between the two of them was, but they were too curious about Mikey to really mind.
It took several seconds of staring and mentally cursing at each other, then finally Patrick moved aside slowly, gesturing Mikey to step in and actually allowing him to enter the house, to enter their life.
“So you’re Mikey.” William said as the vampire walked in with a satisfied smile, and Patrick turned to look at him, surprised.
“We know each other?” Mikey seemed to be amused by that, but William just shrugged.
“No, we just hear a lot about you.” William’s eyes locked with the vampire’s green ones and he couldn’t bring himself to look away.
“Really?” Mikey threw a triumphant glance in Patrick’s direction, and the werewolf just glared back, heading for the stairs.
“I’m sure your fan club will be more than happy to keep you company.” Patrick addressed William and Tom a wary look, then resumed walking upstairs.
“I’ll go get Ryan and Mike.” Tom grinned, frowning a bit at Patrick’s behavior.
“I guess you’re stuck with us.” William laughed when Tom disappeared upstairs.
“Don’t worry, I don’t mind kids.” Mikey smirked, shrugging and expecting the boy to snap at him or to pout.
“Call me ‘kid’ again, and I swear I’ll castrate you.” William showed a wide sarcastic smile, and Mikey barely repressed a laughter, heading for the library.
Most part of the night went by with Mikey teaching William, Tom, Mike and Ryan how to cheat at poker. Then Pete got home and Patrick came downstairs, and the whole thing resulted in the guys being grounded for being up and playing poker at 5 in the morning on a school day, and Mikey laughing his ass off at Pete’s expression when Patrick kicked him out of the bedroom.
~~
After that night Pete slept on the couch of the library for a week, until Patrick finally took pity on him and let him go back in their bed. Mikey disappeared for over a year, and every time William tried to ask something about him, Pete simply dismissed him with random excuses.
It was a couple of months after William’s sixteenth birthday when Mikey came back. But this time Pete was home, and as soon as he opened the door, Mikey fell in his arms, exhausted, his body covered in deep wounds and dark bruises.
Pete brought him upstairs, and Patrick cleaned every single cut and made sure every drop of dead man’s blood was out of his system. Then punched him as hard as he could, knowing Pete was going to seek revenge for what had happened to Mikey.
And he wasn’t wrong. Once Pete was sure Mikey was going to be fine, he grabbed his guns and went out to find the clan that had attacked him. Patrick followed him.
William hadn’t seen Mikey once, despite the vampire had been there for two days; so when he raised his gaze from his book and saw him standing in the doorstep of the library, a little smile tugged at his lips.
“You should be resting.” William said quietly, looking back down at his book.
“I’m fine.” Mikey shrugged and took a few step towards the table. “Where’s everyone?”
“One of Tom’s friends from school throws a party and they all went there.” William rested back against the chair, sighing.
“And you’re here because…” Mikey started, curious and slightly amused.
“I’m grounded.” William muttered with an annoyed glance in the vampire’s direction. “I got in a fight at school and got suspended for breaking that jerk’s nose and bruising his ribs.”
“Did you have a good reason?” Mikey stopped next to the table, right in front of the boy.
“He called me and Tom fags, so yeah, I had a damn decent reason.” William snapped, looking directly at Mikey in the eye. “It’s none of their business who I sleep with.”
The vampire looked at him and shook his head, chuckling. “So that jerk was actually right. You and Tom, uh?”
“It’s none of your business either.” William raised an eyebrow, then brought his eyes back to the book.
“Hey, I was just kidding.” Mikey laughed, heading for the couch. “I don’t really care if you and your friend fuck like rabbits.”
“What?” William’s head turned to him quickly and his eyes widened. “We don’t…we just fool around!”
“I guess you’re telling the truth, or he wouldn’t need to go to a lousy party to get laid.” Mikey shrugged and grinned at William’s confused expression. “I didn’t grow up in this century, but trust me, I know how it works. Parties mean nothing more than booze and willing girls. And boys.”
“Tom isn’t…” William started, but hesitated when he saw the amusement on Mikey’s features.
“Tom isn’t what?” The vampire asked, walking back towards William. “He isn’t gonna shag a random girl? He’s gonna turn down uncomplicated sex just to come home and cuddle with you?”
“You don’t even know him.” William stood, slamming his book closed. “And I don’t fucking care if he shags the entire school, we just fool around. As friends.”
“Then you have no reason to be mad, right?” Mikey shrugged, his eyes never leaving William’s narrowed ones.
“Right.” William growled, annoyed, then looked at his book, deciding he was done studying. He turned towards the vampire and noticed he hadn’t stopped watching him. “What the hell d’you want from me?”
Mikey grinned at that, his gaze moving briefly to the boy’s lips, then back at his eyes. “I could think of a couple of things, but the liquor cabinet will do.”
William nodded sharply his head towards an elegant cupboard near the window. “It’s locked.”
“Not a problem.” Mikey reached the cabinet and turned to look at William with a grin. “If I teach you how to open this, you won’t turn into an alcoholic, will you?”
William seemed surprised by that and his annoyance subsided a bit. “I won’t.”
“C’mere then.” Mikey took something from his pocket and William looked around warily before making his way to the vampire. He knew they were alone at home, but he couldn’t help being paranoid. “This can be your best friend.”
“A paperclip?” William chuckled, watching as Mikey unfolded the little piece of metal.
“Just try.” The vampire grinned and handed it to William. “A hunter has to know how to open doors.” The boy took it hesitantly, and waited for Mikey to say something.
Ten minutes and several attempts later, the lock finally gave in and William laughed giving the little object back to Mikey.
“I’m totally not good at this.” The boy shook his head as Mikey refolded the paperclip, then put it in his pocket.
“I’ve seen worse.” The vampire chuckled, and opened the cabinet with a smirk. “I think you deserve a prize. Pick your poison.”
“I don’t think so.” William arched an eyebrow, his gaze amused and suspicious as he walked to the couch and sat down.
Mikey took out a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and two glasses, then reached the couch and sat down as well. “Just in case you change your mind.” He put the second glass in front of William, then poured himself the whiskey.
“You shouldn’t drink either.” William turned in his seat and looked at the vampire sitting next to him. “From what I’ve heard you were pretty much a mess when you got here.”
“I’m fine. I had a good nurse.” Mikey shrugged and took a little sip from the glass.
“What happened?” William folded his legs under his body and rested the side of his head against the back of the couch. “Who attacked you?”
“I don’t wanna talk about it.” Mikey didn’t look at the boy, and his jaw tightened. “Just leave it alone.”
“Fine.” William bit on his lower lip, unable to stop watching as Mikey took another sip and the muscles of his throat worked briefly when his swallowed, his Adam’s apple moving in a way that William wasn’t supposed to find so inviting.
“You’re staring.” Mikey turned his head and grinned when he saw the boy blush.
“You’re interesting to watch.” William tried to keep a casual tone, but the smirk on Mikey’s lips turned wicked.
“Really?” Mikey turned in his seat as well, facing William and seeing something unexpected in his eyes.
“Really.” William confirmed, trying to gather all his self-confidence.
“I can show you something more interesting than staring.” Mikey tilted his head to the side, testing the boy’s reaction.
“I’m open to new experiences.” William felt a shiver run down his spine at the predatory look in the vampire’s eyes.
Mikey retrieved the bottle and poured some whiskey in William’s glass, than took it and gestured the boy to get closer.
“I’m not old enough to drink.” William smirked and complied, shifting until he was right in front of the vampire.
“You’re not old enough for me to do this either.” Mikey dipped the tip of his index in the whiskey, then rubbed it on William’s lower lip. “But laws are very low on my list of priorities.”
“I noticed.” William replied, but didn’t dare to move a muscle. He frowned a bit when Mikey took a sip from the glass then put it back on the coffee table. When the vampire leaned in, William understood what he had in mind.
The boy didn’t really have the time to think about it before he felt Mikey’s lips on his own. After a couple of seconds of hesitation, he opened up to the kiss, his eyes falling shut. The little part of the whiskey that Mikey hadn’t swallowed flowed in William’s mouth, and the boy felt it burn on his tongue.
Mikey withdrew just a few seconds later and William swallowed the liquor, feeling the burn on the back of his throat.
“Definitely better than staring.” William whispered, then licked his lips and saw Mikey grin. “Do it again.”
“I’m not enabling underage drinking.” Mikey leaned in, his mouth barely touching William’s.
“I thought you didn’t care.” William pouted a little, and his tongue licked the vampire’s cold lips. “Technically I’m not legal, and that makes you a criminal.”
“Technically I’m dead, and that makes you a necrophiliac.” Mikey grinned at William’s unbelieving expression, then pulled the boy in another kiss.
This time it lasted much longer, and William unfolded his legs and leaned back, his hands going to the back of Mikey’s neck. He could still feel the strong and sharp taste of whiskey on the vampire’s tongue, and he let out a little moan when Mikey’s hand ran up his stomach, under his shirt.
As soon as the sound left his lips, Mikey withdrew slowly, smirking. “Patrick might actually cut my hands off for this.”
“I’m old enough to make my own decisions.” William brought Mikey down again and the vampire kissed him back for a few seconds, his hand still rubbing William’s stomach.
When he withdrew again, he noticed William’s slightly heavy breathing and smiled. “It’s better if you go to bed.”
“But I --” William started to say, but Mikey stopped him with a finger on his lips.
“Go to sleep, sunshine.” Mikey whispered on his cheek, then stood slowly from the couch and retrieved his glass.
“Fine.” William hissed, furious for letting the vampire play him so easily. “Goodnight.”
The boy didn’t even wait for a reply, just headed upstairs and mentally cursed Mikey. He slammed the door of the bathroom on his way in and rested against it.
“Fuck.” He whispered when he realized that his hard-on wasn’t going to go away by itself. He locked the door and jerked off, muffling his moans in his free hand and trying to keep Mikey out of his mind. Both things failed.
When he finally got in bed he closed his eyes and just lied there, unable to fall asleep. It took maybe an hour before he heard noise downstairs, and ten minutes later Tom was sneaking in his room.
“Did you have fun?” William asked as Tom stripped down to his boxers and reached him under the blanket.
“Mmh, ‘t was fine.” Tom slurred and the other boy instantly buried his face in Tom’s neck. He smelled like alcohol and cheap girl’s perfume. And sex.
“You had sex.” William heard Mikey’s voice in his head and cursed.
“Talk tomorrow?” Tom placed a soft kiss on William’s lips, then rested his head back. William turned away from him and closed his eyes.
Tom was too drunk to notice the smell and taste of whiskey that still lingered on William’s slightly swollen lips, or maybe he didn’t care. A sudden wave of rage towards his friend made William turn again, and he pushed Tom away.
“Go sleep in your own bed, jerk.”
Tom rolled over and fell from the bed, cursing loudly. “What the fuck? Stop being a fucking bitch.”
“Go in your own fucking bed.” William picked up Tom’s clothes and threw them at the boy, angry.
“Stupid bitch.” Tom took the clothes and walked out, slamming the door.
William let himself fall back in his bed, cursing under his breath. Hell, he knew there wasn’t anything between him and Tom, but fuck, he couldn’t sleep with him smelling like some random girl that had thrown herself at him.
William fell asleep minutes later, and he didn’t hear the door of his room being opened for a few seconds, then being closed again.
When he woke up, Mikey was gone from the house, and William brought Tom coffee and an aspirin.
~~
It was William’s seventeenth birthday, and the last thing the boy expected to see was Mikey Way walking in the room, following a very annoyed Patrick into the library.
“Mikey?” William reached him quickly, not sure if he wanted to smack him or smile. “What are you doing here?”
“I asked him the same thing.” Patrick glared at Pete, who just shrugged, clueless as well.
“I’m sure they won’t mind a little bit of wine.” Mikey just replied, holding two bottles of champagne. “It’s your birthday after all.”
Pete glanced at the bottles and addressed Mikey a curious and surprised look. “It’s a 1966 Dom Pérignon, it’s a thousand bucks per bottle.”
“You know I only go for the best.” Mikey put the bottles on the table and saw the group of William’s friends stare at him.
“Mikey, you shouldn’t have.” William was smiling now, and Mikey simply shrugged. “Thanks.” He moved instinctively and hugged the vampire, ignoring Patrick’s glare.
“My pleasure, sunshine.” Mikey whispered as he hugged him back. “Just drink it from the glass if I’m not around.” He added with a smirk.
William withdrew and slapped him on the arm, laughing. “Pervert.”
The doorbell rang and Patrick went to open, finding himself face to face with Maja and a little group of teenagers. “They’re all yours?” The werewolf asked with a grin.
“Funny.” Maja glared at him, making her way inside without waiting for an invitation.
Patrick gestured the others to come in as well, then closed the door, sighing.
“We were actually thinking about leaving Maja here to keep an eye on the thing, but apparently, you’ll have a bonus.” Pete grinned in Mikey’s direction and headed upstairs, followed by a brooding Patrick. “Do all the noise you want.”
“You want me to leave you teenagers alone?” Mikey asked with a raised eyebrow, once Patrick and Pete were out of earshot.
“No, stay.” William closed the library door and turned to grin at him. “I mean, if you want to.”
Someone turned off the lights and put on the music, the only illumination coming from a few flashing lights Ryan had prepared and placed on the shelves. Mikey looked around, helped by his vampire sight, and grinned.
“I definitely want to stay.”
“Good.” William reached the table and took the champagne. “I wanna save this.” He said as he put the bottles in a cupboard, safe. “It’s for special occasions.”
“What isn’t special in this occasion?” Mikey asked, frowning a bit.
“Nothing. But most of them wouldn’t appreciate it.” William grinned and grabbed the vampire’s hand, dragging him in towards the group. “Besides, we’re pretty organized.”
“I see.” Mikey laughed when he saw the amount of the alcohol on the table. “You’re so made for trouble.”
“Hell, yeah.” William laughed as well, and grabbed a couple of beers, handing one to Mikey.
“Hey, Bill, who’s your friend?” A young boy rested his arm on William’s shoulders, grinning.
“Sisky, this is Mikey.” William took the beer from Sisky’s hand and glared. “And if I catch you drinking again I’ll kick you out myself.”
“Jerk.” Sisky muttered as he walked away, but three minutes later Mike found him and dragged him towards the alcohol stash again.
“He’s what, thirteen?” Mikey asked, disbelieving and amused.
“He’s going for fourteen.” William admitted, scratching his neck. “Mike’s fault, really.”
“I bet it is.” Mikey grinned, taking a sip of beer. “Go have fun, I’ll be around.”
“I am having fun.” William looked around and spotted Maja watching them with an amused frown. “You dance?”
“Not really.” Mikey raised an eyebrow, putting his beer down.
“Too bad.” William grinned and started to walk towards the middle of the room, where most part of the guys where dancing either with their girlfriends or alone.
Tom reached William as soon as the boy was far enough from Mikey. “Hell, I thought he wanted to keep you all for himself.”
“Like you’d care.” William raised an eyebrow and grinned, starting to dance with the boy, knowing Mikey’s eyes were focused on him.
“Just ’cause I’m not a bitch about it, it doesn’t mean I don’t care.” Tom pulled William closer grinding against the boy. “He’s dangerous.”
“He’s the one who’s gonna have my mouth on his cock tonight.” William replied with a grin, his lips touching Tom’s.
“Slut.” Tom bit on William’s lower lip, a glimpse of jealousy in his eyes.
“I learned from the best.” William smirked again, closing his eyes and moving in time with the music, responding eagerly every time Tom kissed him.
It took a couple of songs, or maybe three before William felt a cold hand on his partly exposed hip, and opened his eyes.
“Sorry to interrupt.” Mikey circled William’s waist with an arm, and Tom looked at him, his face unreadable. “I guess it’s my turn.”
Tom saw William grin and lean back in the vampire’s embrace, just as Brent passed by and handed him a beer.
“Don’t give up.” Brent said as they watched William walk away with Mikey. “He’ll get tired of that fucking idiotic moron.”
“You’re talking about Bill or Ryan?” Tom asked with a chuckled, eyeing Ryan sitting next to the new guy, Brendon.
“Fuck, Pete brought him here what, a month ago? And he’s constantly glued to his ass.” Brent hissed, furious. “That bastard kissed him.”
“Just drink it out, Brent.” Tom shook his head and took a long sip from his beer, heading for one of the couches.
~
“You have his scent all over you.” Mikey whispered on William lips as he pushed the boy in a dark corner, pinning him against the wall. “All to get me there, you fucking tease.”
“A bit overconfident, aren’t we?” William chuckled, bringing his hand to the back of Mikey’s neck.
“You’re not denying.” Mikey grinned, grinding against the boy and lowering to kiss his neck.
“Mikey.” William called in a whisper, but the vampire heard it over the music. He looked up and found the boy smirking. “I’m seventeen.”
“Damn right you are.” Mikey crashed their mouth together, his hand tracing William’s stomach down to his belt buckle.
William stopped his hands and reversed their positions, making sure no one in the room could see them. They were in the farthest corner of the room, half hidden by the curtains. When he was sure he dropped to his knees, his hands working fast on Mikey’s pants.
“Bill, what…” Mikey sounded actually surprised, and William grinned.
“People can change a lot in one year.” William moved the jeans down enough to have them out of his way, then looked up at the vampire in the dark, barely seeing anything more than his face.
“I noticed.” Mikey chuckled, half-closing his eyes.
“It’s my birthday.” William took Mikey’s erection in one hand and stroked it a couple of times, then stilled again. “I want my birthday cake.”
Without hesitation the boy lowered his mouth on the vampire’s cock, wrapping his lips tightly around the head and sucking. He felt Mikey tense up and bring a hand in his hair, and hummed softly, starting to move his head slowly.
“Fuck, Bill, you…you were fucking born to do this.” Mikey closed his eyes and let his head fall back against the wall.
The vampire cursed again when the boy brought two fingers to the base of his cock and followed the movement of his lips with his fingertips, applying a light pressure to all the right places. Then Mikey’s hips bucked, and William withdrew a little, bracing himself with his hands on the wall on either side of Mikey’s legs. When the boy didn’t resume his movements, Mikey looked down and saw a mix of arousal and challenge in William’s gaze, and got the message.
Mikey started to thrust his hips in William’s mouth, actually surprised at how well the boy was taking it. All his thoughts stopped when William hummed his approval around his erection, and Mikey had to bite on his lip to keep silent, his fingers closing on William’s head. They were just a few feet from the people celebrating and dancing, but the boy didn’t seem to care.
“Bill.” Mikey banged his head back against the wall, feeling his orgasm approach, but William understood the signal and let the cock slip from his lips. He stood quickly and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand in a slow, deliberate move, then leaned in and kissed the vampire.
“Mikey.” William whispered between kisses. “Upstairs. Now.” The vampire sighed and looked at him, frowning when he saw the boy lick his lips slowly. “I want you to fuck me.”
~
When William woke up the morning after, Mikey was there, holding two glasses of the expensive champagne. It was too early for him to wonder when Mikey had gone downstairs to get it.
“I guess this can be considered a special occasion.” Mikey handed him a glass, grinning.
“Losing my virginity is a special occasion.” William admitted, and laughed at the vampire’s surprised expression.
“You didn’t mention anything about it being your first time.” Mikey sipped from his glass and watched the boy.
“And second and third.” William drank as well, then looked at the vampire in the eye with a smirk while the fingers of his free hand played with Mikey’s bat-shaped necklace. “I told you me and Tom fool around and nothing more.”
“I thought you were lying.” Mikey confessed, laughing softly. “My bad.”
“You won’t disappear for a year or something, right?” William asked, resting his chin on Mikey’s chest. “’Cause I’d like to repeat the experience as soon as possible.”
“Whenever you want, sunshine.” Mikey leaned down and kissed the boy quickly. “But you know it’s nothing more than sex, right?”
“You taught me how to cheat at poker and how to steal alcohol from Pete without him knowing it, I think I can consider you a friend, if you don’t mind.” William arched an eyebrow, the smirk never leaving his lips.
“I don’t mind.” Mikey shook his head, amused.
“Good.” William nodded, then put their glasses on the floor and pulled the vampire in another heated kiss.
~~
Mikey came back about a month later to help Pete with a particularly big clan that had killed also a couple of Gerard’s guys. And William knew that it was one of the rare occasions Patrick was actually not entirely annoyed by his presence.
Mikey sighed as the barrel of the gun clicked in place, and he put the weapon on the table. A noise behind him signaled someone else had stepped in the library.
“You know, I always had a thing for big guns.” William walked farther in the room, and the vampire turned to look at him.
“Mmh, cheesy pick up lines from gay porn movies.” Mikey looked at William from head to toe, smirking. “Cute.”
“I don’t need pick up lines,” William pouted a little, but then resumed grinning. “I mean, it’s not like I need to hit on you, do I?”
“You’re being kind of slutty right now.” Mikey raised an eyebrow, amused, and William took a couple of slow steps towards him.
“I am, sometimes.” William laughed, then tilted his head to the side, his expression softening. “What time are you leaving?”
“Ten minutes.” Mikey nodded, then turned to look at the boy. “Worried?”
“Kinda.” William admitted with a little smile. “Be careful and bring your ass home in one piece.”
“Shouldn’t you be telling this to Pete and Patrick?” Mikey asked, a bit surprised to see the boy really was concerned about him.
“Done.” William chuckled, taking one of the guns on the table. “Be careful.”
“Don’t worry, it’s not that easy to kill me.” Mikey bent down and kissed William quickly, reassuring the boy.
Pete cleared his throat from the doorstep and they both turned to look at him. “Time to go.” He said quietly, then walked away.
“You two really were together?” William asked, still a bit incredulous.
“I’ve had some pretty amazing adventures in my life.” Mikey just said with a grin, then grabbed his guns and headed for the door. “See you, sunshine.”
~~
Five years later
The times Mikey showed up at the most unexpected moment were countless, but William knew sooner or later something was going to change their thing. That something apparently was a four hundred and thirty-six years old vampire with a bad reputation, deep dark eyes and a warm smile.
“Mikes.” William stood on the doorstep, biting on his lower lip. He rarely called Mikey with that nickname. For some reason it had always felt oddly intimate, in a good way; in a way William really didn’t want to overanalyze.
Mikey looked up from the book in his hands and slowly stood from the bed. “What?”
“We need to talk.” William knew it was an awful choice of words and mentally slapped himself. “I mean, I need to tell you something.”
Mikey showed a little smile and put down the book, then reached the boy without breaking eye-contact. Without a word he gently pushed William against the wall, their faces just inches apart.
“Mikes.” William whispered again, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. “I…me and Gabe, we --”
Mikey leaned in and his lips closed on William’s slightly parted ones. The hunter brought his hands up to Mikey’s neck and kissed him back, keeping his eyes closed. It was slow, sweet, almost too sweet for Mikey, and William knew what that meant.
“I know how to let go.” Mikey whispered on his lips when they broke apart.
“Then let me go.” William muttered, not opening his eyes.
Mikey placed one last kiss on the corner of William’s mouth, then stepped back without a word, and the boy finally looked at him.
After a few seconds of silence, William showed a little nod and headed for the door. “Okay.”
“I think I can still consider you a friend, if you don’t mind.” Mikey addressed him a little smirk and William felt his heart a bit heavier in his chest at the memory of those words coming from his own lips five years before.
“I don’t mind.” William smiled back and looked at Mikey in the eye; then he turned and headed outside. No, he didn’t mind.
~
The last time William saw Mikey, Pete was kicking him out, and despite Gabe was there beside him, a piece of his heart left with the vampire.
When he read Mikey’s letter, he realized he was never gonna have that piece back.
William never remembered that night in Butcher’s cell, when Mikey offered himself to Butcher to save him. But inside, he knew it was something Mikey would have done for him.

end
A/N: This is not as long as the other prequels, but there’s a reason, and the reason is I want to write a separate story about William’s childhood and family. I don’t know how long it’ll take to write it, but I’ll probably post it during the sequel, so you’ll have to wait a little bit.
Meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed this one.
See you soon, you wonderful people! <3
