One and Done
So, I did it. I ran the Sound to Narrows 12K!! I set out with the goal of doing it in less than 2 hours, more specifically 1:45. So, 1:31:29 blew my mind! Go me, I'm so stinkin proud of myself. The hubby and the kiddos were at the finish line and that was the cherry on the top. It made me so happy to see them!
I will say that it was a lonely race. When I would pass people I had to resist the urge to say random shit to them!! I've never done a race over 5k by myself. The Rock N' Roll I had Khadijah and I wanted to do this race with the Boss Lady, but due to other stuff she backed out.
The run itself started out fabulous. Then we started up the first hill and I gave too much. By the time I was into the zoo parking lot, I wanted to quit and look at the animals! So, I walked a bit, then ran the downhill. Had to stop at the 2nd potty spot, wait in line for what seemed like a half hour, but I'm sure it wasn't. After that I took it a little easier. Towards the end I decided to walk the flat and run the hills, and that helped me up the Vassault Hill! Overall, I good time. Decided I don't like my new shoes and should've ordered the ones I wanted online, ugh!!!
Don't know if I'll ever run it again. Maybe if we're in the area during this time of year, or if we someday come back, but for now, it's one and done for me!
