Old Pilsburry Sloppy Joes!!!!
Ingredients (small batch; recommend doubling)
1lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped celery or green pepper (optional)
1 small white onion (optional)
1 cup (8oz can) tomato sauce (buy two in case recipe is dry)
1/2 cup ketchup (add more if recipe is dry; I used four long squirts)
1 tablespoon firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon dry/ground mustard
salt and pepper to taste (less than 1/4 teaspoon)
pinch of chili powder
garlic powder to taste
served with:
hamburger buns
sliced pickles
potato chips
baked beans
fresh fruit
Tools
fry pan
measuring spoons and measuring cup
cutting board and knife
medium pot
Directions
1 - brown and chop ground beef in pan, drain excess fat
2 - if adding onion or pepper, chop and sautee
3 - if adding celery, chop (raw) into small pieces
4 - add all ingedients to pot and stir; simmer 5-20 mins on low heat until warm and tasty; serve!
Note A: if too much acidity/tomato flavor, cut with a dash of vanilla extract
Note B: if dry, add a bit of tomato sauce and Worchestershire sauce, but not too much as simmering will moisten the mix naturally
serve over hamburger buns with fresh pickles and beans
makes about 8 servings
