5590: Woody
So there are a few temps I haven't covered yet, for what reason (including non-noteworthiness), but "Dor" gets the unfortunate cubicle that's in full view of anyone walking down the hall, since the doors are completely transparent glass. Some of the offices have frosted glass for a bit more privacy, but not Dor's door.
I was annoyed with Dor for the longest time, because he's one of those oblivious people who have no idea how and/or why to put your fucking obnoxious phone on silence, or at LEAST don't constantly text during work while it's not muted. Then he was gone for an extended period of time when even TLB had thought he just up and quit, but apparently he'd only told Wendell that there was a family emergency and he'd gone back to his home country for a while, so it was a bit of a surprise (and a slight disappointment) when he came back.
Anyway, Auntie has taken to calling him "Woody Woodpecker" because the text notification sound he was using was some kind of tweety bird thing (so I'm slightly surprised she doesn't call him Tweety Pie). THAT must've knocked him over the head with a clue-by-four, because it's been so long since I've heard any sound out of his phone, I've actually forgotten what it sounded like specifically.
(not that I want to remember, but point stands)
What's almost MORE irritating is Auntie's constant, "Hey, Woody Woodpecker." She doesn't even need his attention for something--she'll just go over and say, "Hey, Woody Woodpecker." Full name, too, not just "Woody" (I guess because that might be an accidental Toy Story reference otherwise?). I don't think I've EVER been more aggravated at hearing anyone talk more than I've been irritated by a ringtone... )=|
*knock on wood in the event some genius thinks a crying baby would make a great ringtone WHICH IS AN ACTUAL THING THAT PEOPLE CAN DOWNLOAD, whyyyyyyy*
Anyway, Dor's pretty tolerable now, I guess because he's making WORK phone calls now and can't text as much. Still Facebakes on company time, though, but TLB has straight up said that he doesn't care if we do so long as we do our work. Still pretty annoyed with Auntie, but a new temp has taken her old station across from me, so I don't see her as much (though she still drops by to say "Hey, Woody Woodpecker" and eat my "I started buying candy I actually want to eat vs. Casey's office party's leftovers literally from last year" candy).
...remind me, if any of you care, to mention Hitch and Squeaks, because they seem like the next couple to go perm, if anyone ("sadly", Auntie might as well, possibly Dor)
