4822: Ugly Face
Annual meme that might be of vague help in the event my memoirs are ever going to be a thing of interest:
1. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?
Cosplayed in public, I guess... learned my blood type? Learned [the hard way!] I'm not allergic to yellow jackets... =/
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Well, I did exercise more, but I'm not sure my metabolism allows for much variance outside of the ~20 lb. range I've seen since I stopped "growing." I guess I could join a gym or something to REALLY test that theory [since my exercise bike failed long ago and it's impractical to get a replacement], but that decision's pending re-employment \=|
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not really close. Some (ex-)co-workers, I guess.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Again, not really close. Or, I have a terrible memory and am a horrible person for forgetting about it...
5. What countries did you visit?

6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?

7. What date from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Prolly the (rough) dates of MAGFest, just 'cause they're difficult to forget. Maybe, the second anniversary of my comic, but I picked that date for its memorableness =p [Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.'s bday LOL]
...even facetiously, I'm not likely to have "22 Aug: Had official artwork on Steam" or "4 Oct: Completed ALL Steam Achievements for Braid" committed to memory =p
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting paid $20/hr at work!
9. What was your biggest failure?
...getting laid off mid-year =/ [and failing to get something else in the meantime]
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Well, I guess THAT would be a "memorable" date, but I had to look it up to be certain beyond "July 17-ish" [actually the 16th]: On the release date for The Machine of Death: This Is How You Die anthology, I took a back route to the house and stumbled across a yellow jacket nest... it scared the crap out of me especially because I had no idea if I was allergic to stings, and I had [and have] intense fears about sudden death from poisoning.
Because Hollywood, I guess, but given how long it took me to find help, I *could* have died.
FWIW, my mail order death prediction is "HAPPENSTANCE"--so it very well could've been correct. [Actually, I've had a tough time thinking of ways it wouldn't be.]
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I guess it's Manga Studio 4 EX Ultimate Alpha etc. for $20, though I somehow missed that MS 5 was only $40 \='
I mean, I like Avanna, but I haven't really been able to use it much. [Sorry, not linking these, 'cause I already spent like half an hour looking up the last link, and anyway GOOGLE]
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

I don't know if ALL THE POLITICIANS counts... though, a few people I could name but won't 'cause it's not really HATE hate as much as disappointment over third-party incidents and neutral feelings about spending any more time/money on them.

ashuraou's VHS Roulette is about as close as it gets =p
26. What was the best book you read?
If I'm counting "all the way through" [since I failed to finish a number of them], Hyperbole and a Half.

Aluminum Forest is pretty cool for just stumbling over them on Magnatune. Otherwise, the aforementioned Avanna?
