4171: Does This Rag Smell Like Chloroform?

Okay, so this is the thing: I'm aggravated that I told myself, "There is NO reason you can't finish the comic on Sunday with a whole afternoon wide open!" ...and subsequently spent all of it NAPPING due to a headache >_< [on top of that, I got up late and went to bed early]
So, combine that with first day of new scanning temp job: I spent about half an hour waiting at the front, because visitors have to be escorted [and I can't just walk back due to the badge-locked doors], only to find, hey, the scanner is broken! ¬_¬ Well, yay, they have a kinda crap workaround in the form of the copier/printer/fax/scanner(s), but the one that nobody uses, which I am to use until "my" scanner is fixed, apparently has a problem [I determined through trial and error] sending batches of more than about 14 pages.
And I'm scanning things in binders of ~200 pages/each.
Even this was only after some significant "training" time, most of which was reading handouts but also falling asleep through a powerpoint presentation.
But... I guess it's an okay job, though I get the same sort of "as soon as the project's finished, I'm getting the boot" vibes as with other places. Well, with the last place, at least--I had ZERO clue with every other job until one day they decided they could finish the rest without me =/ I mean, th[REDACTED UPON REMEMBERING THE "WE KILL YOU WITH DEATH LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS!!!1" SECURITY LECTURE]er, so I guess I can't expect more than the promised allotment--though I kinda expect to finish before that if I get a REAL scanner. Maybe even before that DESPITE not having a REAL scanner =/ I mean, it DOES have a feed that I figured out how to use, vs. the "use the flatbed for EVERY PAGE" way my supervisor was showing me.
And at least they have a REAL bathroom! ...albeit one on the other side of a one-way door, but that's what the badge is for ¬_¬
So, this'll be fun. For, like, four months. But what do I want.
