Maybe you missed
this... for only $10, anyway. Still available for $15 [depending on when you read this], though no idea how long it'll
be around:
IT’S LIKE FIGHTING AGAINST THE TIDE.
It’s almost like you cats WANT to be dumb.
There’s something really worrying happening in this country. Lolcats seem to be rebelling, not against oppressive government or unfair corporate plutocracy, but against education and intelligence. It started with a simple plea: “Don’t be a Grammar Nazi, man!” Typos, once the telltale sign of a lack of intelligence on the internet, became a rallying cry for the clumsy-fingered or just plain stupid.
But it didn’t stop there. Somewhere along the line, lolcats decided that it didn’t end there. They began to harangue and disregard ANYONE who told them anything that mildly disagreed with their worldview. Science indicated the environment was in trouble and it might be their fault, but lolcat factories made some lolcats very rich. So the rich lolcats paid the lolcat politicians to spout a bunch of lies and imply that things like “scientifically-proven facts” could be debated on the same level as “a feeling in my gut.” And when that worked, they took their methodology into every facet of lolcat government. And the lolcats who were willing to recognize what was going on around them and wanted to address it were so dumbfounded by the idiocy on display that they could only watch as their country was overrun by lolcats who “had a feeling” and didn’t trust “science” or “facts.”
Because the lolcats figured out that if you hide behind a belief, other lolcats have to respect it. Otherwise, they’re bigots. After all, lolcat society was founded on the freedom to believe in whatever you want to believe. But when you start ignoring the evidence of the world around you in order to propagate the status quo for no reason other than the lolcats in charge have said to do so, you’re doing yourself and your fellow lolcats a disservice.
So please. For you, for me, and for all of us. Get smart. Get involved. Start making a difference.
Wear this shirt: In protest of the ever-growing idiocracy on this planet.
Don’t wear this shirt: If you’re just getting it for the kitties. You’re missing the point.
This shirt tells the world: “No, it’s not just a cat shirt. It’s actually a roundabout way of insulting your intelligence.”
We call this color: I made u a shirt, but I slated it
[also just realized I'm still ordering "normal" M instead of WM, but I'm still kinda eh on women's sizing and kinda don't care, 'specially since American Shirts or wherever seem to think I'm a 2X... HARUMPHHH]
Despite all the kittehs, the Internet makes me sad, too. I finally thought to check something well after the fact instead of before [as ya should], and it turns out XM prolly did NOT get
the brick I mailed them. I guess it depends entirely on when and whether they asked the USPS to junk that [about which I'd feel guilty, which is why I reserved the tactic specifically for them], and considering the above-linked Q&A was back in 1984, I'm *pretty* sure it's become common knowledge enough by now that if you're tempted to send
more than the expected weight, it's likely to get junked, not sent.
So the subtle approach is the way to go--just enough to look like there's exactly what should be in there. Which is cool, but sucks that I more than likely wasted my time more than theirs. It felt good at the time, anyway.
[I did send off two more today as per request of "Keep Wall Street Occupied" guy above, because it seemed like they deserve it. Only put in an expectable amount of crap, though, about equal to an actual business response.]
I do have about 3,000 words in
Nano at this point, btw. I'm just not feeling it with this one, though--3,000 is already two chapters[!!!], which is weak sauce, and I want to slap my protagonist [even though I know she redeems herself]. Sorry if any of y'all were interested in reading as I went like I posted in the past, but it feels way too self-flagellating to post without edits =p Think I need to learn how to put less of myself into a story... -_-
