So, despite the highs and lows of the month,
I have managed to reach my Nano goal--A DAY EARLY!!1 =D I can sleep in! [took the day off in case I couldn't finish]
I will keep writing, of course, until midnight 1 Dec--at which point I will go back to work on
MLCS :p 'cause, you know, I'D LIKE TO FINISH THESE IN ORDER. Not that there's a real flow to them, but there are subtle digs in each one that read better, I think, when
AH YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN So.
Oddly enough, I think having no real bar for quality helped me through this, especially through the LOW lows =/ but having that laptop did help more than I expected--being able to write while at the PA house was a massive time-save, as was jotting shit down on my iPod while waiting in the restaurant at a group supper [read: MUCHO LONG WAIT]. I did have the basic structure of the story in mind, even if I botched it [which, fixing would change the whole book, so I'm inclined to leave it], so even though I actually did spend a lot of time researching while writing despite the rules of Nano to leave that shit for later, I got done ahead of schedule anyway. Which is awesome considering I had no idea what would happen in most parts until I actually got to writing it.
Contrast prior even-numbered years, and there you go ¬_¬; [actually,
TOAD is pretty okay--just need more research into that "bein' a immigrant" thing]
I'm pretty sure next year will either be a forced from-memory rewrite of my otherwise unfinished non-Nano book [to make myself fill in the gaps], or sitting out in favour of something else... maybe a pseudo-Nano wherein I cheat the word counter to simulate words for a certain amount of comic I draw? I have no idea. Yes, I do plan this far ahead, much to the detriment of the present -_-
*wants cake, to the detriment of I already brushed my teeth*
