3675: Subtle

My co-worker: "Julie, don't ever have kids."
Me, expecting the worst: "What?"
MCW: "My mom was supposed to pick up my daughter and forgot, then gave away the car for today. So I have to go pick her up now."

...

Hardly the extreme I expected, but I read Calvin & Hobbes, so. I wonder if being a parent means things that don't seem like emergencies to singles take greater priority...? [or--I dunno, correct me here]

[[I note that another friend is expecting a baby, which makes like... at least three kids on the way just that I know about... gaaaaah]]

I want to see Nick again so badly! ...but not enough to actually go! Aagh. It's like, if I can write enough for two days tonight AND get out early tomorrow [no mail], then I should go get his book signed. I don't sense the former happening, though =(

workcrap, writey, nobabies, complainy
