3639: Alright 2010
So.................whatwasigonnasay. Dunno.
Well, I got Amulet [Kazu Kibuishi] yesterday, I don't think I mentioned. It's a simple children's adventure story, but highly engrossing [despite starting off kind of dark]. Now I'll need to find the next two books [#3 has a fox on the front, which is how I noticed it and realized oh, this is one of the artists in Flight!], which is good because I couldn't find the other books I was looking for at Borders and might as well use the coupon, eh?
I also got my eBay copy of Lackadaisy--in like FOUR DAYS FROM PURCHASE despite advertising media mail!!--so that is happy. I don't think I was nearly hard enough on the publisher, though--that kind of crap service NEEDS to be addressed, even if I'm not out to be punitive about it. [I just think that people should be allowed to know where their mail is, as an option.]
Mystery Cake is turning into a running gag at work... =p At least we had something besides that today, with a Triple Birthday thing going on--cheesecake, fruit-topped cake, and Rice Krispy treats [lol on the last]. Would've been nice if I'd eaten something healthy besides, but... ^^;
ohIthinktherewassomethingaboutmoneyBASICALLY, I feel thrown off, because I feel pressed to play Scrooge with my money because my savings are steadily dwindling [though I could still live off of them for a year+ comfortably]. Yet--and this is where it gets problematic--I then remember I have these other accounts that my father dumps money into that I don't touch, even though he says it's a stipend for the health insurance I didn't have until the start of last month that was supposed to be paying for the stuff I ended up paying for out-of-pocket because why bother touching the emergency money.
So that gives me this false sense of "OH SHIT I'M LOADED!!1" that will be a problem when thieves figure out who this account belongs to and watch my journal for status updates when I'll be out of town [ha, good luck when I don't even remember to post for days]... eh, even *I* don't remember how to get into those accounts sometimes =/ so good luck getting anything out of them.
Anyway, C and I were talking about this, how he's looking at buying ANOTHER TELLY[!!!], and it's odd but not worrying because we're both otherwise responsibly-minded spenders that one splurge now and again won't kill us [link: second letter]. I think that's key: I save a dollar on something when the difference between cheap and expensive is irrelevant to my needs, and I can blow that dollar on something else.
...I don't know why all of this was so important to write down... or why I needed to spend three hours doing all that research so the links would be relevant =|
Just when I was thinking I got more accomplished during the week when I had less of a malaise going on! Aagh. At least I finally got fed up with Chainz 2 enough to kill the mess... maybe I should tell the Internet so in an Amazon review 9_9
