3340: The Anniversary Song
Perhaps you would not believe me if I said I had had bad premonitions about 2009 before it began. In ways, that may have been a self-fulfilling prophecy, though I had little to no influence upon the kind of events that have events 2009 in my mind. [Getting a president who breaks the mold at least on the surface isn't one of those things and is perhaps the main redeeming thing about this year besides, I dunno, folks I could name who were born or won big and will forever have a different slant on it as a result.]
I just can't help feeling a looming sense of doom as the result of things about this year =( PARTICULARLY UGANDA WHUTTT *cannot lose the image of HIV+ babies being slaughtered under said proposal*

Fantastic Mr. Fox gets points off for being limited release [so I haven't seen it yet], a re-hash, and stop-motion with that ugly effect on the fur I don't like.
Okay, Coraline is ALSO a re-hash, but that doesn't count off because I am a philistine who hadn't read any of Neil Gaiman's stuff. Think that helped for Watchmen, too.
I suppose I could critique other movies also, but I don't feel like writing FOREVAR.
