You've prolly heard about this by now:
NASA lost the moon landing footage WAY TO GO GUYS ::T_T::
The thing that kind of gets me about
famous deaths is that sometimes it seems like people talk about the deceased as though having been personally intimate with or touched by them on some significant level, but I don't hear, for instance, anyone bemoaning the passing of
Leszek Kołakowski. [Might just be the wrong audience.] I don't mean to say recognizing one's passing is trivial, but it feels that way just a little when the people mentioned are ones I've NEVER heard talked about, otherwise, or it'd be like the "Who the fuck is Frank Lloyd Wright?" kind of thing I hear when Apples to Apples comes out... 9_9 and suddenly they're all "nooo, Frank Lloyd Wright meant the world to me!"
So, naturally, that feels off. Mostly saying this as observation, and as a backhanded reminder to appreciate people BEFORE they die--not to diminish anyone's grief.
Impromptu BGN to accomodate
metalfox leaving for NC on Sunday! Jon, Thomas, and Cherri dipped out =/ but four-player games a-plenty--none of which I won... =_= Race is still Race, and even with four more start worlds, I seem to be the new New Sparta tag. It was a joke at first, but now I keep getting it! Ugh.
Dominion is fun in principle, but in practice I have not been able to appreciate the wisdom in throwing away points [Estates] in favour of a more dynamic deck... until about ten turns too late to do anything about it 9_9 but at least I'm getting some good strategizing in, and there was no Jon to cheat his way through T&E this time! XB
It'd be nice to do something later today, too, but we'll see. HP can be Sunday, if need be, but up to what locals want to do. [On that note, mention anything I should throw on/off[?] the playlist--I think I got/am looking for the ones I was aware of, but remind me.]
